suffering and crafts

So I've been missing for about a week. Shark has been sick. So work on top of school on top of sick means no ones been doing really anything but sleeping, eating and coughing.

Cuz oh yeah, I'm sick.

Yeah 3 days ago it was just a sore throat, but now its a full blown cough. Ugh.

Danger has a touch of the cough too. Humidifiers and vapor rub all around. Our house smells like a mix of Halls cough drops and eucalyptus. {spelled that one right on the 1st try!}

I'm going in today to InstaCare, to see if there's something they can give me, or hopefully to catch this before it becomes pneumonia. {spelled THAT one 1st try too!}

This weekend my sister in law and I got CostCo memberships. I love it. We might always have king size jumbo food service size containers at our house. Hmmmm we might need another fridge.

Also, my brain function hasn't returned to normal. I'm forgetting things and not remembering things off the top of my head like I used to. And it bothers me. I hate not being able to remember little things, like where something is, or all the places I need to go. Argh!!

I really wish I could watch Rachel v Guy Celebrity Cookoff. I'm watching little clips on Swagbucks TV, and I love it. Hurry Netflix, add the Food Network! Please!

My love affair with American Idol has ended. No more running around trying to spend a few minutes with it. I was only watching cuz Scott Dangerfield made it to Hollywood week again. And he made it to the Top 40, but didn't make it to the Top 24. Which I'm bummed, I think they let some people thru who shouldn't have made it. And they hardly showed him at all. Every episode, I was squinting my eyes trying to catch a glimpse of him. Hardly a glimpse at all, ever! Oh well. At least now my Wed & Thru nights are free for baseball, come April!

So our mailman is seriously afraid of our dog. Well, not just our dog, but all dogs in general. I feel bad, cuz Bandit is a scary looking dog {let's face it, if that big furry face is charging at me, yeah I'm a little freaked out.} but he is really just excited to see everything. So he runs fast, at everything. He scares kids sometimes. But he really is a sweet dog, and wouldn't intentionally hurt anyone. Oh well, I know Bandit is a good dog, but I also know he sounds scary when he barks.

I've done something crafty!! I made pacifier clips. Yeah sure you can buy them, but they are so stinking expensive. I took a piece of ribbon {I like grosgrain ribbon best, satin is fine, but hard for me to sew, satin ribbon might like you better, it doesn't like me too much...}, some elastic cord, and a suspender clip. I like the elastic cord cuz I can keep track of Danger's Soothie binky and all his other ones too!

So easy and so cute.

Halloween-ie

So this year's Halloween was kind of a bust. I LOVE Halloween. It is one of my favorite holidays. {You get to dress up and get *free* candy!} I usually deck the whole house out with Halloween decor.

This year - I wasn't in the mood to put up a whole bunch of Halloween decor just to take it down. Especially since I'm a week {{yes, ONE week, 7 DAYS!! wow}} to giving birth to the Little Man. So, I put up a few things, like my wreath and my little Mason Jar Monsters, and my flashing skull.

We carved pumpkins Monday afternoon. Yeah, well, we bought the pumpkins on Friday, and bought candy the day before that. {If I buy candy too far ahead, I eat it all...} So, it was all kind of last minute I guess. Mine is the cyclopes on the right, and Shark's is the smirking one on the left.

I made my Halloween costume before we carved pumpkins, so it had time to dry. I went as a skeleton. Even Little Man made an appearance! :) I shamelessly copied the idea (and the little baby skeleton!) from Make It and Love It. I found the idea on Pinterest. :)

Bandit went as a Unicorn. He was pretty cute for a dress-up dog.

We had a good turn out of Trick-or-Treaters, and I'm glad I bought as much candy as I did. I was a pretty fun night. We were going to watch a Halloween movie, but I'm really a big wuss, so we ended up watching Tron Legacy, instead. It was weird but it was decent. Neither Shark nor I have seen the first Tron, so we didn't exactly know what to expect.

All in all, it was a pretty HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Understanding

So, Shark's new schedule is a rough one. He works a swing shift. 3 days off, 3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on... But he also works the night shift : 6:30 pm-6:30 am. It's not that hard once you get used to it, but it really takes some time to get used to. He still needs more time, I think.

Everyone asks me if it's hard for me to deal with. Eh, yes and no.

NO - because we needed this job. I'm able to stay home, take care of the house, and the baby when he gets here. This job pays our bills and allows Shark to go to school still. I have plenty around the house to do and keep up with. Also, he's working in the field he's studying in. This is what he'd like to do when "he grows up" and he's working for a company that would allow him to move up. He's already excelled at the job he's doing and learning more about other jobs there too. He enjoys it. He likes his job, and a rough day means he's got to find and wash more cans, rather than the rough day as a driver meant picking up 3 pallets of 100 boxes each, and each box weighs 47lbs. His rough days aren't so rough. And my schedule is going to be changing here in 10 weeks or so. Once Little Man comes to town, times are going to completely change!!

YES - because I wish I had more time with him. {NOTE: It doesn't matter what his job or shift would be, I will always want more time with him. Even with his last job I wanted more time with him, even when we were in CO and we both had days jobs, I wanted more time with him. Wives always want more time with their husbands!} The hardest part, and I've already talked about this with him, is the few minutes we get to see each other awake. Those sleepy minutes when he gets home at 7:30am {he drives an hour each eay to and from work} and I'm still in bed, I read and pray and he snuggles into me to get warm {motorcycle!} right before he starts snoring. And those rushed hurried minutes where he jumps in the tub and then out quick and then I feed him something to eat before he has to rush off and beat traffic and construction. That's what's hard. But really, that's only 3 nights a week, 4 on a long week. It just feels like a very LONG time in between seeing him. 

We still make time for each other, tho. We have a date night, where we either go out to the dollar theatre and see a movie that neither of us knew was out yet, let alone in the cheap theatre. Or we stay in a watch a movie, either from The Collection or from Netflix. This week, we did both. We watched Toy Story 3, and went a saw Transformers 3 with some friends. This morning, he brought me flowers. :)

And starting tomorrow, we're going to be on a vacation. We're flying back to WI for a while, and Shark will be able to fish every single day, all day long! And I get to do baby stuff with my mom and sisters!! Yup, we're both pretty excited.

Shark and I have come to an understanding. We still talk to each other, and hold each others hand and kiss and eat dinner together. Right now, we are so grateful for each other, and the sacrifices we're both giving. I'm grateful for him, and how hard he works, and how much he's doing to provide for us. I'm grateful for his strength and love for me. He's grateful I do laundry and cook, and keep the house clean-ish. He's grateful for my strength and contentment with being home, and my love for him. {We've talked about all this.} He means the world to me and I am so happy that we found each other!

Ooh, enough of the mushy stuff!! :) I've been making Little Man's baby blanket!! I've got all 9 wonky squares done, now I just need the white fabric for the border, and the flannel backing for it. I'm pretty excited with how it turned out. The wonky log-cabin is such a forgiving pattern {not sure if it's really a pattern, maybe more of theme..} and it's very versitale. Plus it's lots of fun and looks great.

This is me finally making good use of the craft table in my craft room!!

Here are the flowers Shark got me! When I asked him to take them upstairs (so I didn't step on them when I got out of bed) I said, "Now, I'm not trying to mean or evil, but you don't have to put them in water cuz we'll just be leaving in the morning and they'll die next week." Our plane takes off at 8:30am tomorrow, Shark will be heading to the airport straight from work.

And I painted my nails yesterday! I love how they look. I've had this bright magenta nail polish forever, and I bought a silver glitter polish yesterday to go over it. I love it!

So far that's what's been going on. I think the week after next, I'll get some white fabric and some flannel backing for the blanket and finish it up!

And I'm ending on a picture of what Bandit does while I'm in my craft room.... Making sure no one sneaks up on me!

Just blah

Alright, so I've been MIA lately. And for no reason really. I've just been feeling Blah lately.

Part of it is : These days have been THE LONGEST DAYS EVER!
 Another part of it  is : Even though I'm not fat {and don't technically know how far along I am!) I hurt all over. Which is ridiculous! Totally ridiculous!!

I mean seriously! I'm not even showing and my back hurts all the time, and my hips have been in some crazy pain every time I walk!

I'm not tryin to be a whiner-49er, but dude, this stinks.

And I went out and bought a huge bottle of Zantac because I've got heartburn like I ate buffalo wings, 3 burritos, and some nachos. Ugh.

I did buy paint. so we can get started on the nursery. It's going to be the same color for boy or girl. Green. Jungle theme. I've had the idea for a while, and told Shark, and he's down with it.

But Shark and I did buy a memory foam mattress top. Which is freaking awesome. I love it. ♥

I have also been taking Bandit for walks some days when I get off work early. Today we went to a new little park and he ran and ran and ran! I just walked around. It was pretty awesome.

eating things and Easter

So, we've come to discover that we have such a weirdo little dog. While Shark was digging the garden (which was ALOT of work) Bandit was out there "helping" him. I got some video.

He eats dirt.

And he whines whenever Shark uses a shovel.

He's a pretty funny puppy dog. After a while, I would lock him in the house, so Shark could get some work done. He hated it, and was running from every window to every door, trying to get out. I don't know if he thinks we were having so much fun or what, but he loved "helping" in the garden.

Yeah helping.

We also discovered that he eats plants.

He has some flowers inside the yard that he likes to nibble on.

Easter this year was a pretty good deal.

Shark got peanut butter eggs and Cadbury carmel eggs.

Girl got cookies and cream bunnies and Cadbury cream eggs.

Bandit got bubbles and some rawhide.

Then we went over Shark's parents' and got even more candy! Now to clean up all the mess from the wrappers!!

Sprouts and beds

So, I started a garden a few weeks ago. I don't really remember when cuz lately all my days have gone SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO slow! But, I started the garden by planting the little seeds in cups. (Angie over at Angie's Creative Corner gave me the idea.) She didn't post it, because she's been doing the same type of "crafting" that I have been lately... But once my little seeds turned into kind of big sprouts, Shark and I planted them outside.

Before we could plant them though, Shark had to rip out some bushes, and part of a fence, build another part of a fence {the Bandit escapes!} and then turn over all the dirt.... It was so much work, and my husband is amazing!! ♥

So our garden is planted, and we even watered it! We're well on our way to eating some good fresh food this summer!!

Also, I've found that my back hurts. Already! I don't know what the deal is, but I guess it's "spacing" - my body is making room for the baby. Ugh. All I can say is I'm not even showing yet and my body is shifting! It kinda sucks. I walk like an old woman. My hips always hurt and my back hurts! So.... Shark and I bought a memory foam mattress off eBay.

I love getting mail, but this mattress is so exciting! I can't wait!! It says it should be there this week!! Yayay!

What a week

Ok, so for the past week or so we've been watching a friend's dog. Bandit has been so excited all week! All they do it play.

It's been absolutely crazy. If we thought Bandit was sneaky and smart, he is nothing compared to this new one. Daisy snuck out no matter how hard we tried to keep them in.

Daisy came with a kennel. And when Daisy started climbing on Bandit's bed, Bandit climbed into the kennel.

They were pretty cute.

Shark put in the garage door this week. It's been a pretty crazy week. It's been raining and windy all week. But the doggies have been cute and somewhat good.

Today I was driving around town and stopped at WinCo food, I got some bulk food, which is awesome because it's cheap and I get tons of food!!! Right around the corner from WinCo is this vinyl place. I've been meaning to stop in and check out their vinyl. I got tons of scraps.

I got all this for $20. Freaking awesome! I put my shoe in there so you could see just how awesome it is.

Getting ready for Christmas

So, since my illness, I have had time to just hang around the house. And since I can't really talk to anybody, I just listen to music and either clean or finish my presents. Well, I was blog-stalking today and I found a Christmas Countdown at Dating Divas! I absolutely love this! Too bad I don't have any time to make an advent calendar... Yup, just no time. I'm making Christmas presents still... Yeah.. I know.

I did finish my tree yesterday.

I absolutely LOVE it this year!! I bought all new ornaments because the blue/silver/black bulbs I bought when we first got married, flew out of the truck while we were driving. Yes. My ornaments (meaningless ones, not the ones my mom has been collecting since I was born) were smashed to smithereens on I-80, somewhere in Wyoming. So, I bought new ornaments, and I love how the tree turned out. You know how when you picture something in your head, and then you go to create it, and when it's done you think, Oh Crap, I suck at life...? Well, the tree actually turned out how I pictured it in my head. For once, that Oh Crap, thought didn't happen!! Yayayay! Shark's pretty cute, he really likes the silver picks I used (leaves) and he thinks my tree looks really good. He usually doesn't notice things like that. I'm pretty impressed with my tree decorating skills. :)

This is my favorite picture because you can see everything I used to decorate it. Each bulb I used (blue shiny, matte and glitter and silver matte and shiny), both ribbons (blue and silver), the snowflakes, the silver mesh and the silver pick (leaves). Plus, my tree actually looks good, not like the crappy tree that it is. {trust me, it really is crappy!}

That's Christmas so far.

This is Bandit playing in the snow. I found out I can use his Chuck-it like an ice cream scoop, and it makes perfect snowballs, it even throws them!! Yes!! Pretty sure it's awesome. And little dog loves it, so it's a keeper!

Oh, yeah. Remember my random voice-loss last week? Well, this week, my voice is still kinds gone (mom says I'm getting better) but now my throat hurts and I'm coughing and that hurts too. So, I bought some Mucinex, I bought 2 boxes and the guy at the register asked my age, he looked at me all skeptical, I said, Look, I'm married, I've been married 2 years. You have to be 18 to be married in this state right? He smiled and said, Yes. Geez people, I'm going to be 24 next month, I'm not skipping class, I'm not buying Mucinex to grind up and snort. I mean, I sound sick, ok. So, yeah, that's been bugging me this week. Yeah, alot. Shark is still NOT sick. On one of his pick-ups, they gave him a free flu shot. I think they were shooting everyone that walked thru the door. Lucky him.

Chewing

Ok, I went to church today (ok, I only went for 15 minutes! Shark's not here and I still don't know anyone!) and when I got home, I opened my door to this.

My Keds are destroyed!! I loved these shoes! With the stars and how comfy they were. Plus, they were $10!!

Needless to say, Bandit is locked out of the house. For. Good. No more Nice Girl, this is the 2nd pair in 3 days. Along with all the other shoes he ate while we were in Colorado. It's raining outside. Maybe he'll continue digging that hole.

As of Late

Ok, so new things... I started working on my Christmas presents! yayayayay! Which means lots of cutting and stuff. But what I'm doing this year is turing out way cute! I'm super excited!

I also scored this awesome craft table! I found it on ksl.com and then when Shark and I went to go pick it up, the lady said I could just have it! I don't pass up on FREE, so of course, we have a table, and some shelves she was getting rid of!! Which is awesome! I love shelves and tables!

Bandit has a fort. Basically that just means, I cleaned out room and put his pillows/bed under the table in our room, and he sleeps there now {instead of at the edge of my side or at the foot of the bed!}.

And you can now see my countertops! Yup, I finally broke down and cleaned my kitchen, sorta. I put my folding shelf in the kitchen for my cook books and some of my appliances, like my 2 crock pots, my griddle, and my Bosch.

Lots of fun stuff! Sorry I haven't posted all week. Things have been crazy here. Shark started being a courier at work, so he's driving truck now. But his folks are building a house, and he's been helping his dad with everything on that end. And I am now on the registers at the Post, which is awesome, but a switch from being on the sales floor. :) Things have been crazy, with Christmas happening now at the Post, and the girls tell me, it will only get worse! Oh man!

Park, Plates & Stars

So yesterday after work, I took Bandit to the Dog Park. (I brought water this time, but he is a snob when it comes to bowls and water...) Basically all he did was run and run and run and he laid down to drink his water. He's pretty funny. One lady commented on how he prances, yeah he came like that. Nothing I can do about it. I told her, The vet told me I'd have a show dog if he could just keep his tongue in his mouth... They have tons of tennis balls at the park, and I would just walk around with the Chuck-it (still the best toy ever!) and pick up random tennis balls and then throw them for him and any other dog out there. He loves to run, that's his favorite!!

We registered the silver truck today. It didn't cost near as much as either of us were thinking it would! Which is totally a relief, you know, since we're trying to buy a house and all.... Plus, we finally got a Z!! (great for playing the Alphabet game on long trips....) I'm not going to take a picture of the plates, cuz then you can FIND me!! :) LOL! But I am excited to finally have Utah plates, no more crazy "tourist" stares! I really do know where I'm going!!

Last night after Shark got off work (he fogged until around 12:30am) I really wanted to go check out the Perseids Meteor Shower going on this week. I love shooting stars, and thing I remember about my childhood, is we'd go visit Grandpa Doyle's and Grandma Arlene's house and someone (that part I don't remember!) would take us up to this hill by the airport, right up by the spinning air traffic tower, and we'd park in this little church/cemetary parking lot and watch the meteor showers! Well, I wanted to go see the meteor shower this week, and last night was the night! Shark was dead tired, so pretty much I drove out west, just west of the City, and we parked by a little pond and laid down on one of the millions of blankets we always have in the truck, and watched the shooting stars! My awesome phone came with the Google SkyMap app, which Shark and I both agree, it is pretty sure the coolest app ever! When I hold my phone up the night sky, it'll show which constellations I'm looking at, where the horizon line is, which direction I'm looking at (or holding my phone towards) and the screen is very motion sensitive, if I hold my phone south, it shows what's in the southern sky. Last night I held my phone more northern, and it showed my Orion (that one's not hard to find, the dude has 3 stars in a row as his belt!). Although there might have been a glitch last night, I'd point it to the eastern sky and it showed the SUN well above the horizon line, which I know for a fact was FALSE! The meteor shower was great, we didn't see butt-loads of shooting stars, but we saw some pretty cool ones. We both saw one where the trail lasted for so long! It was pretty fun!

It was so nice to just sit and relax with Shark. And love stuff like meteor showers, and fun stuff like that. I really am a nerd. Oh, and if you're a nerd too, there's more info about the Perseids Meteor shower. It's still going on, but the peak was last night. It should go on until Saturday night or so. :) Enjoy!

Naked Dog

So, Bandit has lots of hair. And it's not soft hair either. It's dirty, scratchy, black and white hair! He gets so hot when he's running around, I started thinking of shaving him. {One of Shark's friends, Paul, shaves his wirehair pointer} Well, Shark and I got talking, and he never said NO to it, so I brought the shaver to the parent's house, and we now have a naked dog. I was going to put a mohawk down his back, but got carried away with the shaver. As per Shark's request, I left a tuft of hair on his tail, and we left the socks hairy {shaving between his toes might get difficult.}. He was very calm while we shaved him, he just laid there and took it, didn't struggle. I laugh everytime I see my shaved pup. He looks pretty cute and goofy, but at least he won't roast. While shaving him, we found out that he has alot of thick, long hair but under that, his fur was almost like down. He must have been dying when we go to the park!!

Walking the dog

So, I bought a dog toy called a Chuck-it. It's pretty sure the best thing ever. I don't have to touch the slimy slobbery ball EVER, and this Chuck-it throws the ball so much farther than I can, and it doesn't wear my arm  out near as much. It's pretty awesome. I took Bandit for a walk, and he loved it. He got running so fast that when he went to pick up the ball {while he was running} he totally fell and rolled over! I laughed so hard! We played and played for about an hour, he had lots of fun. He was way tired at the end of it too. I like playing with my little dog, he's so much fun. I'm glad I bought one of these Chuck-it's, I saw one at the puppy park when I took the dogs a while ago.

Mon..Tuesday thats right!

Ok, so I totally forgot that today is TUESDAY! Ugh! Everything I normally do on Mondays has to be pushed aside for everything I normally do an Tuesdays! So yeah, my whole week is going to be off just a little now. Oh well. I got a bunch of stuff done at work today : I made a brouchure for Ty, I called a bunch of football guys about Blaze tickets, I even went a supervised some games today. I only bit my nails a little bit today! Yay!

My little dog is still looking sad all the time. It makes me want to go out and take him for a walk. It's raining today tho, so hopefully on Thursday, not tomorrow, cuz I supervise until about 10 or so. Today Shark brought home some deer antlers, and the dogs went nuts! Sniffing them and licking them, Bandit started to chew on them, and I whomped him, Shark wants those antlers for something. I'm not sure what yet, he's crafty too. Earlier today, Shark called, asking me if I wanted a coyote pup to raise as a dog! I said sure why not, as long as he doesn't eat my little dog. So, no little coyote pup, Shark let him go. He also found a little baby skunk, which was so freaking adoreable! But that was a no-go as well. :)

My friend from CO, who is moving to UT (in 9 days!!!) texted me and asked me about the new Twilight movie coming out. Asking if I was going to it. I said probably, I like the movies a WHOLE lot more than the books. But I'm thinking of not going to the midnight showing. Utah is crazy about Twilight, and I don't want to be stabbed for not taking the series seriously. So maybe her and I will go the next day. {Besides, I was looking while on the phone with her, and most midnight showings are sold out... Yeah Crazy!}

I've been making a book, I showed you the post I was using, a while ago. This is just a glimpse to see what it is. POTD for 6.1.10 is : part of my project.

Blaze and dogs

Today, I woke up when Shark woke up for work. Yeah, at 5:30! ugh! I could NOT go back to sleep for te life of me. So I sat up and played on my phone for a while, then I went back to sleep, only to have some CRAZY dreams for another hour, and then I finally woke up. I took Bandit to his vet appointment today, he was so calm and good for the doctor. They all commented on how well behaved he was. {I told them it was cuz last time he went to the vet, they knocked him out to stitch his leg, or how about everytime we take him they have to put a thermometer in his butt!} He didn't even take the dog treat they gave him at the beginning! He's a pretty cute dog. There was another dog there, and they didn't have him vaccinated, and they said to keep Bandit away cuz they don't want to get our little dog sick, I chuckled and said "Oh, he has all his vaccines, he's over a year old." He's just so small! He also looks like he has to grow some more, his paws are big and he looks like he's a young pup. But he's full grown. I think he's a little dog, but according to weight charts, he's a large dog. :)

While I was at the PetSmart, I picked up some fishes for the turtle. I got 20 of them for him, hopefully he'll stay in his dang tank this week!!! So, when I left, Chomps was chowing on some fishes, it shouldn't be that hard for him today, he's got nothing in his tank {but a big rock} to hinder him. We took everything out of the tank so he stomps climbing out!

Well, after PetSmart, I took some CD's out to Shark's work. While I was there, Shark told me that Paul would have his wirehair at the Abatement. So Bandit and Shadow were running around all over the place. Bandit's favorite game is chase, so when Shadow had the ball and was running away with it, Bandit was having the time of his life. I bought Bandit a new ball from PetSmart {he looked so sad when the dr was checking him out....} and I was throwing the ball around for Bandit and Shadow, and they ran and ran and ran! After a while, I noticed there were spots of blood on the ground. I was checking the feet, and the pads on my little dog's feet were shredded! So, I took him home, and was thinking of a way to make sure no blood got on Steve & Heather's floor. Then I got an idea! Diapers!

So, this is what my little dog looked like. 3 of his paws were bleeding, he had ground his nails down to his paws, and the pads on his feet were shredded. But only 2 of his feet were still bad and bleeding when we got home. he walked so funny, like he was trying to shake off the diapers with each step! I left to get dog food, and by the time I came back, the Bandit had chewed off the front diaper, go figure. I checked his foot, he was fine.

I went to a Utah Blaze game tonight. The Utah Blaze is an AFL team, but they recently got bought by a new company, because the AFL was going under, so all games ceased, and we're lucky our team got bought and the new owner is keeping the same name and place, we're glad the Blaze are still in Utah!! The game was awesome! I loved it! I was so close to getting a shirt, it was falling right at me, and I reached up to snag it, and someone else got a finger on it, and it got knocked off course. So close... Oh well! It was still lots of fun!

After the game, we went to Olive Garden, cuz me and Dave were starving. We bought Shark some food, and got a to-go box. He ate all of it! And said it was delicious!
