blog awesomeness

So I've been being a blog-stalker lately. Mostly via pinterest. Yeah, I suppose you could almost call me a Peeping Pinner... ;) Well, on all my peeping, I've noticed that the blogs all that these social media buttons that you can click on and it takes you to the blogger's Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Flickr, or whatever. I really wanted those buttons since the following rules have changed a bit. {Plus, I know I follow my blogs now on my Kindle, via RSS.} I wanted to make it as east as possible for people to find my blog, and all my other things.
See how cute that is? {This is from my SIL's site, Decor-ganize Crafts!}

I have been searching for social networking icons for a long while. Ok not that long, but it feels like forever since I have to fight a baby in between searching! But I found Pantone's social media icons. Free and usable, and she even links a How-To from Primp My Blog for putting them on your blog. It was easy. I just had to search for where to find my RSS feed URL. After reading it 3 times, I understood it.

I had found these flag buttons from Leelou Blogs, but I went with the mustache background for March, and the flags don't really fit or match... Maybe next month!

With how Primp my blog showed how to put them on the blog, it wouldn't been that hard to make your own buttons! Maybe that will be my next thing. {But it seems to me that everybody else can find these buttons so easy!}

I also understand that with linking my Twitter and my Facebook, it pretty much negates the fact that I use code names on our blog. I am still going to continue to use code names, cuz eventually, I'd like to have a Facebook for my blog. Maybe I'll work on that this week.... But also, my security settings on the 'Book are so high, that no one can really see anything of mine, unless they are a friend, and if they're a friend, they already know our names. ;)

Yeah, with the help of the internet, I'm awesome!!

race ya

Ok, so when Shark is working (from Wed-Sat) for some reason, I subconciously stay up as late as I can. Not sure why, or how really, but for some reason I stay up late when he's gone. Last night was no different. I'm trying to finish up my Christmas presents before Little Man gets here.... Yeah, I'm sure it'd go lots smoother if I stopped added little random projects to my list.

Anyways, last night, I was ready to head down to bed, and I randomly asked Bandit if he was ready. {yes, I talk to my dog like he's a person... he guards the door while I'm in the craft room.} When I turned to pet him, he wasn't there. He wasn't down in the living room either. I figured he was outside telling the neighbor dog to stop barking. When I got down to my room, Bandit was already there, in his bed. He looked up at me, as if to say, Well, it sure took you long enough!

In preperation for Little Man's arrival in 12 days {gasp!!} I've been cleaning up things, and throwing things out. (NOT tons of work, just some lazy work, really) Well, I've been searching Pinterest for organization ideas. And really, that's all they will ever be, is ideas. Maybe someday when it doesn't hurt to sit in a chair for an hour or when I don't have to use the bathroom every 15 minutes, I'll find time to get more organized. I know I'll need to get more organized eventually. Right now, I just want ONE solid place to put all my mail. I've got random piles all over the kitchen and living room.

SO that is my goal. To put the mail in 1 spot, 1 box or basket. And then once a week, come up to the office/craft room, and divide it into the filing cabinet. So, my first step is to make the box where all my mail will go. I'm thinking that shouldn't be too hard. I'm planning on doing something like this Mail Organizer from There's A Hole In my Bucket. But I'm thinking, I might use one of the *free* Priority Mailer boxes I take from my post office. We'll see what I come up with. :)

And have I given a shout out to the public library lately? We're back on our roll of getting audiobooks by the bagload. Now that Shark can listen to them at work again, he's going to need tons of them. He's working that 12 hour shift and says he'd love to listen to books! So I went today and got a whole new load of books. Shark's been into the Wheel Of Time series. Longest. Series. Ever. Seriously, I just imported 1 book of 34 cd's! Yeah, total listening time of 1.7 days! Granted, he'll be done with it in 4 days of work, but still, that's a lot of listening!

Oh, so I learned  a trick. :) While up in my craft room, sewing a project and importing books onto my computer, I was listening to my iPod. I put my iPod in a bowl and it acted like a mini-speaker! It was awesome, cuz iPod's only go so loud, but putting the iPod in the bowl made it lots louder. I might have learned the trick on Pinterest or something, who can tell?

Well, my little dog thinks it's time for bed. Time to race him downstairs! Good night! ♥

The List - A MUST for Engaged Couples

So, when Shark and I got engaged, I bought 1 bridal magazine. It was huge and full of all kinds of ideas! In this 1 magazine, they had a 3 month checklist. {Which was great, because most Mormon couples aren't engaged for longer than 3 months!!} But it also included The List.

Shark and I come from different family situations and backgrounds. My parents are divorced and I was raised by my stepdad, his parents are still together. I was raised in Wisconsin, 45 minutes from my church building, and members being the minority; he was raised in Utah, 2 blocks from his church building, and members being the majority. I have 5 brothers and sisters, we fought all the time; he has 3 brothers and sisters, and they are best friends. We both had different opinions and thoughts about marriage and raising a family.

The List helped us get on the same page about marriage, duties, chores, holidays and family. The List is a series of questions, questions I never would have thought to ask, never would have thought mattered. We found out later, these questions really did matter, and they made all the diffrence in the world.

I still have the pages from the 1 bridal magazine. I did NOT create The List. We added our own questions to fit our relationship. I am NOT taking credit for The List, but I feel I had to share it. I'm not trying to deny anyone the credit for The List. The name of the magazine I got was LatterDay Bride. Pam Fullmer wrote this article, and she did a wonderful, amazing job in writing the story for The List and The List itself.

Alright, without further ado, here is the link to The List!! I put it on my Google Docs, cuz Google Docs is awesome and easy!

I am also giving you the link to the 3 Month Checklist! It was helpful for me to have a checklist, I was flying back everyother weekend to plan a wedding!!

One thing I also found helpful, was the Wedding Workbook. It gives a checklist, a budget planner, a guest list planner, a photography planner, a music planner, flower planner (with which flowers are in season!), and a reception seating planner!!

Shark and I had our own set of questions on top of the ones in the sample. Do you steal covers? Snore? Creamy or crunchy peanut butter? White or wheat bread? Will you go grocery shopping with me? How do you want us to greet eachother when we get home? What do you do to relax? How do you organize stuff? What do you NOT eat or drink? What smells do you not like? What color would you HATE to wake up to? Sleeping in on Saturdays? How clean do you want/expect things? What do you want to do together? Seperate? What things should we not do so our kids don't do them? Will you help me pick out furniture? Will you talk to me about problems? About your good days and your bad days? How do you handle confrontation? How do you handle anger? Will you confide in me? Medical history?

And those are just a few. We had 5 pages of questions we came up with together. We made a big date night of it, a mega Determine The Relationship date. But we only did this mega DTR after he asked me to marry him, so it didn't catch either of us off guard or make us uncomfortable. We were preparing to share our lives together, so these questions were completely appropriate.

I truly believe that answering these questions strengthened our relationship and helped prepare us more for marriage. We were mostly on the same page when we came out of the Temple that beauutiful day in June. I don't think anything else could have prepared us more or gotten us more prepared.

I figured I'd share The List. I've been thinking about it for a few months now, and finally FOUND it! Trust me, I lose these papers so often, I'm kinda surprised I found them! I hope you enjoy The List!

Love to all in love ♥

new wreath

Alright, so I've had an itch lately.

I've been wanting to make a new wreath for my door.

Not a fancy one or anything, just a summery one.

I bought tons of pinwheels at Dollar Tree last year, hopeing to make a wreath. My first idea never turned out the way I wanted it to, so I gave up last year, putting it off until we got our own door and I could think of a better idea. I bought all the supplies for a pinwheel wreath.

This year it hit me.

I decided to wrap yarn around a floral wreath, and then stick pinwheels on that.

What you need :
  1. floral wreath (Dollar Tree)
  2. Yarn (I have a stash)
  3. Pinwheels (Dollar Tree)
  4. Hot glue (stash)

First, take your yarn and tie it around the wreath. Start wrapping yarn around the wreath.

I would twist the yarn after I looped it around the wreath. I twisted the yarn so it was a tighter wrap and there weren't any spots where the wreath was showing.

Now, if you're like me and don't know you're own strength, you might end up breaking the wreath at the seam {oops} I was thinking of hot gluing it, but hot things have never worked on the floral foam wreaths for me, so I duct taped it. I wrapped the yarn around the taped seam so nothing showed and you can't even tell I broke it!

Now, I teased my dog with the wreath while my husband cut the pinwheels.

I had him cut the pinwheels sticks short, but with some stick left still. In the end, I cut all the way up to the 90 degree elbow.

Then I put hot glue ont he elbow and stuck them on the yarn wreath.

I made sure they didn't touch, so in the event I get a breeze here, they will spin and not hit eachother.

I debated on adding a ribbon to hang it from, but decided against it, I can never get my wreaths to hang flat on the door when I put a ribbon on, so I just set it on my wreath hook.

Enjoy your wreath for the rest of the summer!

Love to all who love making things! ♥

Jean Skirt

I have long dreamed {envisioned, if you will} of making a pair of jeans into an awesome skirt that I would love forever and ever. Plus, it's totally one of my goals!! Woot woot!

TA DA!!

You need :
  1. Jeans (that still fit around the waist & butt)
  2. Seam Ripper!!!
  3. Sewing machine
  4. Thread, matching or contrasting, it depends on how *flashy* you want it.
  5. Scissors

First thing first!

Measure up the hem of the jeans to a length that is good to work with. This is NOT the final length. I measured up 12 inches. Draw a line across the legs of the jeans with a pen, and CUT the legs off.

Now to rip stuff :

Ok, turn the pants inside out, find that inside inseam, (the inseam is the seam that goes from inside ankle to crotch.)

and start ripping.

Now turn the pants outside out, and start ripping that next seam!

Ok, there is a THIRD seam, go attack that one too.

Rip all the INSEAMS on both legs!

Now, you're going to want to rip open the front seam. Rip it up to the bottom of the zipper. Don't destroy the zipper, that's still needed. And flip over the jeans and rip the back seam up to the belt loops/pocket hem.

This needs to be done so the jeans will lay flat.

Now that your jeans are completely open. Go get the legs you cut off, and start seam ripping those. Start with the bottom hem.

I ironed my seams flat, it makes them easier to work with, I highly suggest it.

Once your entire denim material is flat as can be, put your "flattened leg" under the open "leg seam". Pin in place. {I centered my leg seam with the peak of my open seams}
Next, start sewing outside out, so you know where the edge of your seam is. I used white, cuz I had white on my machine I'm flashy.

Flip it over, flatten out the crotch crease and pin in place then pin the "flattened leg" out under the open seam.

Sew up the back!

**I double-stitched. I make 1 running stitch on the edge of the seam, and then did another one just inside the first one.

You'll probably have excess "leg" on each side of your skirt. Find a length you like, and trim the extra length off. If you have a skirt that you LOVE where it falls, length-wise, use that one to measure the length of the skirt you're making. (I used my old jean skirt, I lowered it a bit for a better length.)

Flip it inside out and trim off the extra demin on the inside.

Make sure everything looks good inside out, and double check the hem, make sure it's what you want.

Now, put in a running stitch to hem it a little. I again, did a double stitch.

Now you're totally ready to rock your skirt!! I'll post a picture once Shark gets home to take one of me!

Love to those who try new things, and find out they aren't as hard as you imagined!! ♥

Store credit!

So, I randomly get random texts on my phone. All the time. Last night as we were out to eat, I got this wierd little text from GameStop. The text said, Hey, if we're texting or calling you it's because you might have trade-in credit! So go to gamestop.com/credit! So I did! And I found out I have $13 in-store trade-in credit!! WooHoo!! How have I not known about this?!?! Unlike Shark, who has no clue when or why I would have trade-in credit, I know exactly when I went in and got credit! I don't know the date specifically, but I know everything else. So are you ready?

It was our first Christmas together, 2008, and we had gotten a duplicate game from my family. But if you recall, I had my heart surgery in Feb of 2009 {yeah, it's almost been 2 years!! wow!}so we were all nervous and planning for that, plus Shark and I worked super hard while we were in CO, so we didn't have time to go trade it in. Gamestop wasn't really close to where we lived. So when I had the surgery, my mom and Shark's brother Kurt came out to visit and help me out. On one of our field trips, we went to GameStop. Kurt wanted a new game, and I found it the perfect time to trade in mine. Kurt found a game, but I couldn't find something I really wanted, so that's why I have trade-in credit still. And, maybe, since we can't find our MarioKart Wii game, and Shark's parents's game doesn't work, and I can't keep borrowing Angie's, maybe we'll put that credit towrads MarioKart Wii!! yayayayay!

Tonight is Whitney's 1st birthday! I'm heading to the party after work, Heather asked me to take pictures. So here goes. On to work, my friends. I'll post some pics tonight!

Love to all who have just discovered that I'm a gamer, and to those who knew it all along! ♥

Yes Yes No

Ok, so today I went to the Weber County Library, I got a library card, helped a little girl find her mom, and an armful of books. I'm so excited!! In fact, I already finished 1 on the books I brought home. Yeah... Addicted, remember?!

I also went to the Davis County Library, and got a library card from them, too. Davis county has lots more eBooks and audio books on their site than Weber does. So that will help Shark out. He loves audio books. I brought home yet another armful of books.

So after 2 yes's today, I had a meeting with an Aflac agent, to discuss supplemental health insurance. {Basically, a premium is paid, and then during a hospital visit, the insurance company pays out a certain amount.} Well, in talking with the agent, we went over the underwriting, and apparently, you are supposed to answer NO to all the questions. Well, for each policy's underwriting, I answered YES to 1 question. "In the past 3 years have you been hospitalized for a consecutive of 5 days for congenital heart defect correction surgery?" Yes I have. How did they know?! They came out and asked me, and not in a general way either! It's like they planned it specifically so I could not get insurance!! Ugh!

Ok, so I know that's not really what happened, but it feels that way! Sometimes things just don't work out. But the supplemental health insurance was just for peace of mind, so I'm not so stressed about finances and money. We just need to make sure we budget everything, and if it's not in the budget, then we can do without it. Right?!

Now, on to craft night. I'll be sure to take pictures and post them when I get home.

Love to all who find being patient stinks and just because something is in the plans, doesn't mean it's what's going on. ♥

And books too

Not only am I addicted to video games and digital things. I love books. Nay, I ♥ books!! I love Barnes & Noble. I love cook books, church books, kid books, self-help books, saving money books. {Although, I really did NOT like Twilight... I went to the movies cuz it was a girls night thing!} But, back to books. If I had the budget {which we all know that I DO NOT!!} I would spend $100 a month on books. And I would probably read them all too! While working in Colorado, I discovered AudioBooks. I fell even more in love! How awesome is it to work at a computer {or drive around like Shark did} and listen to books. We drove across WY listening to Harry Potter. It was amazing! Well, to save my budget, I'm getting a library card. The most awesome thing ever!! Oh sure, I'll take free books any day! {Cuz you know I love *FREE* more than anything, even books, even chocolate cake... Unless it's free chocolate cake...} Lately the books I've been getting have been cheap, but also useful. Like The $7 a Meal Quick and Easy cookbook. Or, 1,000 Easy Household tips. Or, the one I bought today : What to expect before you're expecting. {See that?! BEFORE!! That means : NOT YET!} But I did also buy the 4th book in my Peter and the Star Catchers series... But I have recently been reading Covenant Hearts, it's a good book about marriage and why we get married, not just for us, but for society. And how to tackle the changes and views of the world towards marriage. I'm always finding new recipes and cookbooks. I recently picked up a CrockPot cook book, and 2 Cupcake cook books. Hopefully, we'll be making some cupcakes soon. Shark will tell you he's been dying without cupcakes, and that is completely false.

So yes, I love books. And tomorrow I'm going to get a library card so I can enjoy books for Free!! Plus, that will also help increase our AudioBook collection. Shark loves AudioBooks. But yes, I really do think I'm addicted. But they help. When I'm reading, the stress goes away, and I have to focus on what's going on {or the message being taught} in the book. I can't concentrate on my life and the book at the some time, which is awesome. Everything else I do, I can think of other things while I do them, meaning, my brain never shuts off. Trust me, it's kind of awful. But reading helps me to ignore/forget what's going on. :) So bring on the books!!

Love to those who admit to being addicted to ridiculous things like books, or Wii. ♥

Transform!

No, not a post dedicated to the Autobots... but I can tell that I'm really turning into a Collard... Last night I got gas at the Sinclair on 89, and I looked down and found a lone earring.

I knew I was transforming when my first thought was : That would make a great fishing lure! Yeah... Either into a Collard, Shark's companion of 2 and a half years, or an Outdoor show host.... So now this earring is in my possession and soon to be in Shark's tackle box. That boy has changed me in so many good ways, looks like I'm making the full change. If I start to wear work boots, and khaki Dickies, call my mom and my sisters.

I told Shark tonight about it when he got home, he started taking it apart to make it into a fishing lure, because he agreed with me, it would make a GREAT fishing lure.

Love to those who will still love me when I wear camo all the time, and drive in a truck that's always dirty.. ♥

Park, Plates & Stars

So yesterday after work, I took Bandit to the Dog Park. (I brought water this time, but he is a snob when it comes to bowls and water...) Basically all he did was run and run and run and he laid down to drink his water. He's pretty funny. One lady commented on how he prances, yeah he came like that. Nothing I can do about it. I told her, The vet told me I'd have a show dog if he could just keep his tongue in his mouth... They have tons of tennis balls at the park, and I would just walk around with the Chuck-it (still the best toy ever!) and pick up random tennis balls and then throw them for him and any other dog out there. He loves to run, that's his favorite!!

We registered the silver truck today. It didn't cost near as much as either of us were thinking it would! Which is totally a relief, you know, since we're trying to buy a house and all.... Plus, we finally got a Z!! (great for playing the Alphabet game on long trips....) I'm not going to take a picture of the plates, cuz then you can FIND me!! :) LOL! But I am excited to finally have Utah plates, no more crazy "tourist" stares! I really do know where I'm going!!

Last night after Shark got off work (he fogged until around 12:30am) I really wanted to go check out the Perseids Meteor Shower going on this week. I love shooting stars, and thing I remember about my childhood, is we'd go visit Grandpa Doyle's and Grandma Arlene's house and someone (that part I don't remember!) would take us up to this hill by the airport, right up by the spinning air traffic tower, and we'd park in this little church/cemetary parking lot and watch the meteor showers! Well, I wanted to go see the meteor shower this week, and last night was the night! Shark was dead tired, so pretty much I drove out west, just west of the City, and we parked by a little pond and laid down on one of the millions of blankets we always have in the truck, and watched the shooting stars! My awesome phone came with the Google SkyMap app, which Shark and I both agree, it is pretty sure the coolest app ever! When I hold my phone up the night sky, it'll show which constellations I'm looking at, where the horizon line is, which direction I'm looking at (or holding my phone towards) and the screen is very motion sensitive, if I hold my phone south, it shows what's in the southern sky. Last night I held my phone more northern, and it showed my Orion (that one's not hard to find, the dude has 3 stars in a row as his belt!). Although there might have been a glitch last night, I'd point it to the eastern sky and it showed the SUN well above the horizon line, which I know for a fact was FALSE! The meteor shower was great, we didn't see butt-loads of shooting stars, but we saw some pretty cool ones. We both saw one where the trail lasted for so long! It was pretty fun!

It was so nice to just sit and relax with Shark. And love stuff like meteor showers, and fun stuff like that. I really am a nerd. Oh, and if you're a nerd too, there's more info about the Perseids Meteor shower. It's still going on, but the peak was last night. It should go on until Saturday night or so. :) Enjoy!

Love to all who are nerds too... ♥

Love affair with Blockbuster

So, pretty much, my Blockbuster account just got way more awesome than ever! Why, you ask? Oh because I can now rent VIDEO GAMES thru my Blockbuster Total Access account!! Cha!! I know! I'm so excited! When Shark and I lived in Colorado, we had our GameFly account. Well, it proved to be just too much for 1 gamer and 1 video nerd to handle. So, we cut the GameFly free, they temped me for months, offering deals if I came back. I had to put those emails in the JUNK folder!! Well, little did we know, that if we held out and continued to love out Blockbuster account, they would reward us with video games! I can now rent all those wonderful games that wave at me in Wal-Mart, the ones that look so sad because they are still in the store, and have no home. I can rent games rather than buy them, that way I'm not stuck with them if they bring a life full of disappointment and agony (*cough*WiiMusic*cough*) and now I can rent them, see if I like them and then lovingly put them on my Christmas list! No doubt involved in this process! So excited to try this out! Of course, there are some games that are on the list.

Like Lego Harry Potter (1-4) for starters!! I love all the Lego games, and Lego Harry Potter just looks freaking awesome. (Pretty sure the Collectors Edition is the one on my list!!)

And this awesome game called Boom Blox. We played this at a friend's house this past weekend {my arm still hurts, thanks guys!} and it's an up-to 4 player game where you throw balls at your opponents' castles, or you play Jenga to see who gets the most points (those were the only 2 ways we played, but it looks like there are more ways to play, something about creating a character!!)

Tetris Party Deluxe. This game is just awesome. We have friends that love this game, and everytime we were over at their place, so pretty sure we love this game.

WiiSportsReosrt! This game just looks awesome, I should have played it when I was back in Wisconsin, because the kids said it was freaking awesome.

Yeah those are just what's on my list so far.... :) The list will grow once we get cracking on this Blockbuster game rental. :)

Love to all who are undercover gamer nerds.... ♥

Construction Zone

So, this week, I've been getting up early and going to work at 8:30 am. Well today, Shark forgot his phone on the table, and I also made him another CD of the book he's listening to when he fogs. Since I had time to kill before I had to be at work {after I ran to the football camp first} I decided to run his phone and CD out to him, or at least to his truck parked at work. Well, there is alot of constuction going on on I-15 {when isn't there construction going on I-15?!} and they kick the speed limit down to 55, they shift the lanes, make the lanes smaller, and put those solid lines up for no passing. Well, learning to drive in Wisconsin, where there are no 3 lane highways north of Green Bay, certainly NO 4 lane highways, everything is a doublelane highway, the 3-lane and 4-lane highways freak me out! I hate being in the middle lanes! So, anyways, I learned to drive in WI, and we had to be aware of tractors on the road, and who had right of way, and we also had to be very aware of construction zones. I learned you had to obey the speed limit in construction zone or suffer pain of death! Getting pulled over in a construction zone for speeding was almost as bad as a DUI. You just don't speed around those areas, and everyone on the road was ok with you going 50 even! Not out here! Heck no! I'm going 55, and the semi behind me is driving down my hitch! All the cars around me are flying past me going 70! It makes my stomach drop when I see those construction guys on the side of the road, and the cars are flying by going 70-75! I know that I am not going to slow the traffic in my 1 truck! But I get mad driving around here cuz no one slows down when they should, no one seems to care. I've heard people say, "oh, cops LOVE that area!" Um, pretty sure I haven't seen any cops around that construction zone, not a 1!

Ok, and I'm done, that was my vent, my rant if you will....

When I got back to Clinton, I stopped at Jamba Juice, I had a FREE smootie card. So I got a Strawberry Surf Rider, and I got an oatmeal with brown sugar crumble. The smootie to wake me up, and the oatmeal cuz I was starving! The oatmeal was freaking awesome! It tasted so dang good, so much better than the Quaker instant pouches!

Love to fast and easy goodness! ♥

Homerun derby and stars

So today, I shopped. I bought lots of stuff, but most of it was on sale, and I even got some on clearance, like 95% off!! Sweet! Shark works at the mosquito abatement in Davis county, and when he worked there 2 years ago, he was partners with Joel. Well, if you know Shark at all, you know that he is a fan of nicknames, and everyone he knows has a nickname. Well, Joel's nickname is Naked Joel. (Naked Joel was partners with a girl after he was partners with Shark, and Shark dubbed her the Mrs. It's funny cuz Naked Joel and the Mrs got married about a year ago, it's cute!) Well, Naked Joel has been calling Shark and telling him we need to get together and have a double date. Tonight is the night! A homerun derby, and then a campfire at the Uinta property. (Shark's grandma owns property up in Uinta, right on the river, no house is built there yet, but every year or so, she threatens to sell her house in Cali, and move out here to Utah. I'm hoping she builds a big house.)
We can add 6 movies to our list. I bought Thumbelina (the exact one we used to watch when we went to my grandma's, when I was little!), Waitress (with Someone Like You), The Ant Bully, Troy (2 DVD edition!) and Robots. All were in the $5 bin at WalMart, the double Feature was $10! I was so excited when I saw these!

We tied in the Homerun Derby, and then we went and got our TV, and headed out to the property for a campfire. (I went to Kent's last week, and was browsing, and found these GIANT campfire marshmallows {really, that's what they're called} and we brought those.)

After our campfire, and Naked Joel and the Mrs went home, I wanted to stay out and look at the stars. So we hooked up the TV and put in Stardust, and watched part of it. I say part of it, because Shark started snoring before Tristan came back to find Evane gone! {when the unicorn broke the chain!} So, we packed it up and went home. It's fine with me, I knew he would fall asleep anyways, but I wanted to cuddle outside on the loveSac, it was way nice out tonight. I love my husband, he is so giving, and usually goes along with anyything I ask. ♥

POTD for 6.5.10 is : the giant marshmallows, next to a soda can, for comparison.

Love to all who love creative dates, and cuddling with their spouse!

Attempt to Church and FREE stuff

So, I got Shark to agree to go to the Young Married Ward on campus. So we got up yesterday morning, we got ready to go, and we headed out to Ogden. We ended up going to the wrong building, so we ended up leaving and going to the real building (I had me heart set on going to that ward, and no other wards would cut it for me!). We found the right building, it was a block south, just 1 block! And we got there just in time, but as we were walking in, there was a guy in the parking lot, who had locked his keys in his car... Shark and I both took notice that this guy would NOT be able to get his keys out himself, so helped. Well, I just kinda stood there, and dropped some advice every now and then. I also called the Ogden police, who are NOT open on Sunday, and they do NOT do lock-outs. So they were no help at all... But we eventually got this guy's door open. Another guy in the parking lot had an Air Wedge, and that cracked the door open just enough to fit the hangers in. We put 2 hangers (well, 1 hanger and our truck antena) in the crack and popped the lock up. By the time we were done with his car, it was too late to go into church... Plus, Shark has a cut on his hand, and it opened up, and got all over his white church shirt.... But we also saw one of Shark's friends, Nate, while we were at the church, Nate helped out tons to get into this guy's car. We chatted with him for a little while after the guy left. So we went back to the parent's house, and on the way, we saw a porch swing on the side of the road, and it said FREE on it. We love FREE stuff! So we talked to Steve & Heather about it, and we went and picked it up and took it to their house. They like it.

At the parents house, I made a pie, just like all the others I've made. And we finished Fablehaven #5, Keys to the Demon Prison. It was AWESOME!! I highly recommend the series to everyone who likes books. Next we are going to finish the book we started, Slathbog's Gold, we were half way into it when we got Fablehaven, and since Kurt is going to be working on Sunday's starting in May, we decided to read Fablehaven as fast as possible. After we finish Slathbog's Gold, we're going to read Peter & The Starcatchers. I'm excited for Peter & The Starcatchers, I just bought the 3rd book! I like the Peter books alot. :)

Strip to fit

So, a while back, like when I moved back to WI, after my failed attempt at college and failed attempt at life out in Utah, I bought Carmen Electra's Strip to Fit. I remember, I was with my friend Heather and I bought disc 1 and she bought disc 2. Well, this Strip to Fit DVD has been with me everywhere, every house I moved to, every state change. Well, when I moved to Utah the 2nd time, after I got my first CAD job out here, I had started to go thru the routines. I had to time it just right, I'm not exactly a pro, and it would have been so embarassing to have my roommate walk in to find me in my sweats attempting to strip... No one sees me when I do this, no one sees me when I excercise, I look like a dork, or at least I think I do... But a while ago, I made a list of goals, and on my list was : 4. Get into shape (self confidence). Well, what better way to get into shape than to start striping (for personal use ONLY!!) and doing the strip to fit, helps my confidence tons!! (Well, staring at Carmen Electra for an hour doesn't help, but feeling like I'm doing something really good does help!) I can honestly say, that I am out of shape (don't shake your head, it's true!!) and I feel good lately cuz I've been trying to work out and trying to be be healthy. Plus, this DVD I bought is 100% husband approved! He doesn't mind at all!! :) I just bought the entire set, on Amazon for $20! Plus, with me still out of the job, I have all the time in the world for excercise. So this kinda shady fitness DVD will finally get some use. I switch it up, the Strip DVD and the Wii Fit.... both do a good job in getting me to hurt.

Anyways, I must have done a "hip flick" with too much oomph, cuz seriously, the muscle that is my butt hurts so bad!! That means, it's working, right? Shark tells me, it's just a sacrifice for the good in life. Ha! I can say, the routines work every muscle! I was planning on walking the dog today, but it got cloudy... I might still go, after our craft-day, but I've got to find a sweatshirt.

POTD : is the picture above, my Wii Fit Plus and my Carmen Electra Stip to Fit DVD 1! Cuz I wouldn't hurt so much if I didn't have them... ;)

Love to all who have ambitions.... or alterior motives....

Crafty Monday

So, since alot of my friends here in Utah all have boys, and my friends in Colorado are all having boys, and since me and Heather did little ruffle-bum onesie's for the girls, I decided to do a boy onesie craft!! There just aren't alot of cute boy clothes. Girls are easy, you just slap a bow or flower on their head, and *BAM* cuteness!! {NOTE : Don't really slap them, mothers give you the fish-eye if you make their babies cry!}So I searched the blog-o-sphere and found some cute applique patterns, and then after doing that, Heather and I searched the clipart collection that is the internet and found some way cute little pictures that worked perfect!!

Some girls were planning on coming over, but ended up not making it, we're planning another applique craft day on Thursday around 12. I'm now a pro at applique-ing so it should be a breeze. And I've got loads of fabric, I dug in my boxes yesterday, after Heather and I made the onesie's, and found ALL my fabric from making sandals. So, the result is : tons of fabric for onesies.

I had an idea a week or so ago, and I bought the $1 wood frame from Michael's, and printed off the picture of the temple. And, Heather and I were going to make them the night we made the onesie's, but we both had plans with friends, so the frame got put off. And put off, and put off.... Until yesterday. We made the frames yesterday.

This one is mine. I L♥VE how these turned out. Shark asked where I got idea from, and I told him I just came up with it one night when I was trying to get to sleep. (I've been having a hard time getting to sleep lately....) But after Heather and I made them, I went to a boutique store, where all kinds of crafters sell stuff, and immediately saw these exact frames, with different paper, but still, it was the same idea!!! Oh well..

This is Heather's. They aren't completely done, but I wanted to show how they turned out so far. Upon completion, I'll take another picture!!

Today's POTD is : The craft table. Heather's craft table, loaded with all kinds of stuff!!!

Love to all the crafters at ♥  -   {Even Shark is a crafter at heart, he makes swords, knives, and he usually makes things better than when he picked it up!! EX: He made a truck-bed rack out of a broken bed frame!

Celebrity Doppleganger

So, that same radio station that had the psychic lady on, was talking about this face recognition web site that finds which celebrities you look like. So, since I was sorta busy yesterday with unwork, I went to the website today. And I came back with interesting results.

I tried it again with a different picture, and it matched me with different people. I like these results the best!! So far, my Saturday is going prretty good.

Caught it again!

Today I woke up sick - again! I woke up with a sore throat. So, I have been chugging the OJ, drinking loads of H2O and popping echinichea/golden seal and vitamin C like a mad-woman. I got thru work, and got home, and took another dose of the vitamin C. Since I didn't get to stop in the library yesterday, I asked Shark if he wanted to go today, he said he did, so we got in the truck and went out for a night at the library. So the new library is not very organized, or maybe it is, they just don't have it labeled, well, either way, I can never seem to find anything! Shark and I have been on a Book On CD kick for a while, cuz I can listen to them at work, and he can plug into his iPod and listen all day too! Best. Ever. So, I brought along a list of the books I wanted to find, and Shark found them all for me!! He's the best ever!! So, the POTD for 1.14.10 is a pic of the books we got from the library!! Yayayayay!!

((Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!!))
