why hello there

Ok, so lately, things have been crazy. Not really crazy like I'm all over the place but more like going at a steady pace and lately it feels like I'm all over the place

I've started watching a nghbor girl, which is pretty fun, cuz her and Danger interact with each other so cute. I'm pretty sure most babies Danger's age would scream and cry if you took something away from him, but he just sits there like, Oh well, I wasn't really enjoying it anyways. He's pretty cute for a little guy. It's fun to see her reaction to him. Like when he takes her toys, or crawls over her toes. Plus the babysiting means a little extra income that helps us with groceries and things.

(My sister-in-law Heather, invited me over to make capes, and I made Danger's cape with her, and then I made one for the neighbor girl A. They love watching Super Why! and now they really can be super-readers!)

I am still scorekeeping at the city, and he's been pretty good so far. Yeah he crawls but he never goes very far. I'm not sure if just doesn't want to, or what. But he stays pretty close to my booth. Oh and he helps me keep the books.

So, Danger has been moving and shaking. He is ALL over the place.
(and he is apparently a wrestler, just like his dad!)

He's crawling like a madman (who leg has fallen asleep and just drags behind him.) and he's started pulling himself up to stand on things. Yup. He's already there. He's fallen a few times but we're playing it down.

When he falls, we say BONK, and he usually smiles (sometimes after a while...). I've been playing a game with him, when he's standing on my lap and I'm holding his hands, I lightly bonk heads with him and go BONK. He giggles at that. So yeah, we're working on that.

I understand he watches everything I do. He sees me crawl around picking up toys, and he'll crawl around and push toys around. So I figure, we might as well get him in some good habits, right? Well, I bought a little pack of tooth brushes for him. When I hand it to him, I show him mine and tell him "We're going to brush our teeth now!" ((I understand he's 8 months old and probably has NO clue what I'm saying or what brushing or teeth mean, but he's doing what he sees mommy do.))

I've been trying to keep him from sucking his thumb... cuz I can take away a pacifier, but I cannot take away his thumb. The little guy sure is clever. He found a way around my "rule of thumb."

You know how if you plan to do something every day/week/month and if you forget just ONE time it kinda goes ka-put? Yeah, well, that's how it's been with the monthly photo in the laundry basket. I do have a reason why I missed his 6th month : that was the day we were leaving for Wisconsin. Yeah I know I should/coulda taken the pic the day before.... however, I did not. I am planning on taking the picture today and then I'll probably end up posting it within the next 6 months. :)

When I take pictures with my phone, the flash goes on before and stays on while the picture is being taken. When Danger sees it, he instantly turns to cheese. It's pretty cute.

So, ever since he was teeny, his hands have never been helpful. When feeding him, his hands would LOOK like they wanted to help and hold the bottle, but they would just end up pushing the bottle away and knocking it to the ground. Just recently, I've been letting/making him hold his own bottle. (Except when we are ready for bed, then I hold it, cuz his arms are tied up in the burrito.) Sometimes his hands, still aren't helpful!

So yeah, that's been our life for the last little bit here. It really has been a lot of fun watching him learn new things. Yesterday we met a horse, and he could not/would not take his off of it. He stared at the horse the whole time we were there. He's so interested in the world and everything around him. And he is so intent on things. If he sees something he wants, he just goes for it, crawls over laundry, dogs, boxes just to get it. I love this little guy!

Love to you all!

Home again

So, we went on our big trip! And it was amazing! It was a pretty awesome trip. Little Man and Bandit were freaking awesome! They took the trip like champs. Danger slept the whole way there (a few patches of fuss, but we got it under control) and the dog just slept the whole way.

We went up thru Idaho, saw some friends; then up thru Yellowstone. Apparently it was a free admission day, which was awesome. Once we got into Yellowstone a bunch of cars were slowing, cuz there were a WHOLE freaking bunch of buffalo right by the freaking road!

Then we saw some elk, some antelope, and we saw some mountain goats (which are really rare to see!) We didn't seen any wolves or bears. But a guy had gotten attacked by a bear early that week. He was trying to take a picture of an elk and walked in front of a bear, and it gnawed on his leg. Yeah, I know. Woah.

We drove thru Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota to Wisconsin. Idaho is Idaho. Montana is beautiful!! Not at all what I was expecting, it was gorgeous. North Dakota was NOTHING like the barren waste land we had pictured in our head. Minnesota is pretty much exactly like Wisconsin (sorry to say it, but it's true.)

Hanging out with the family was pretty awesome. It was great to see the whole family (all 6 kids) together. Plus, that means they ALL got to meet Little Man. We hung out, we fished, we caught fireflies, we went out for our anniversary, we ate brats, we played with our baby, and watched my family play and laugh with him. Over that week, he prefected his wounded soldier crawl and even popped a tooth! But my parents got to meet him and hang with him. I loved that.

Driving home, we went thru Iowa (stayed at some friends from UT who moved there) then thru Nebraska (we drove thru 104 temps and our little car said, I just can push cold air to you anymore!!) then thru the all-too familiar territory of Wyoming and onto Utah. Yeah, that's the boring way, that's for dang sure!! But it was faster than I-94.

So now we're home, everything is out of the car, washed folded, and almost put away. But we're getting back into the swing of things. We got home late late Monday night and got to just chill on Tuesday. Shark went back to work on Wednesday night. So things are pretty much back to normal.

Yup.... Back to normal.

road trip road trip!!!

so this weekend we're planning a trip. We're heading home to Wisconsin! I've been so excited for so long! We've been saving up for it and I have been really excited. Shark took the time off work, so we have a big long week and a half! So now we're counting down the week! And now I've gotta start packing!!  I went to the Bakery Outlet and bought a whole bunch of snacks, and I stocked up at CostCo too! So yeah we've got tons of snacks. I'll just have to make one last stop at both the Outlet and CostCo for drinks, but not until Friday (I'd definitly start drinking then early!)

I'm excited to see my whole family! My mom has seen Danger, but my brothers and sisters, and my dad haven't. Plus, my sister Alexa is graduating from high school, so she's planning on having a end of year party and THE WHOLE FAMILY is coming! My older brother is coming, my sister is coming from Texas, my grandparents are coming, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lots of friends!!! SOOO freaking excited!!

Oooh! So another awesome thing about this trip, is we're driving! We're taking a big huge road trip to WI. We're heading north thru ID, then head east thru MT, SD and MN, straight into WI! I've never been to MT or SD, and I am so freaking excited! We're planning on heading up to Rexburg, ID, some friends of the family are up there, and I'm excited to see them! Then we're going to see the temples in Billings, MT and Bismarck, ND. Then we're driving thru Minneapolis to see some friends of the family (who recently got married and are freaking awesome!!) and then it's straight on to WI!!

So Danger, Bandit, Shark and I head east next Saturday morning! Yay!

Family Pictures

So we got our family pictures taken! And I am so excited to share them! I decided to get us all in blues, we could just wear jeans (yes, Danger has blue jeans, and they are soooo cute!!) and we each had blue shirts to wear that we didn't have to buy! Awesomeness! Bandit was behaving and we got some smiles out of Danger! It was pretty fun. We took the pictures at the same place I took my bridals and the place we took our engagements. It's a pretty special place to us. Cami Hess took our pictures. Check her out at Cami Hess Photography. Ready for a photo dump?

Yay for smiley baby and smiley family!! Our photos were taken by Cami Hess, over at Cami Hess Photography. How awesome are these pictures?! Great job, right? I love them!

slithering

so I understand I have been MIA, again. Yeah, it seems I'll get all ambitious and motivated and blog 3 posts at once, then drop off the bus for 3 weeks. Ugh. My bad.

So lately I've been trying to take more walks, get out more and hang out with friends and stuff. Plus I've been making things for Christmas and baby gifts and cute things like that.

Little Man has been eating rice cereal and single grain stuff for about a month, and 2 weeks ago he tried carrots. HE LOVED THEM!! Last week we tried sweet potatoes. He loved those too! He leans into scarf down the whole spoon! He's like a little Shark!! It's so dang cute. He's been kinda crawling, more like slithering. Anyways, when I put him in one spot, he ends up somewhere different. Baby gates are coming!!

I've been making some little sock monkeys. And by making I mean crocheting. A friend had me make one for her sister who's pregnant. And I loved it so much I decided to make another one for my cousin who is pregnant. (Plus I know quite a few who are pregnant or who have had little ones!)

Shark and I got family pictures taken two weeks ago. And I LOVE how they turned out! I am so happy with them and with the gal we got to take them.

I found Cami Hess on KSL, and she took amazing pictures. Head over to Cami Hess Photography to check her out!

Pretty sure my little guy is the cutest little guy ever! He took a nose dive a scrapped up his nose this past week, and then got his 6 month shots the next day. Let's just say it's been a rough week for the little boy. But he's been smiling and playing and being all kinds of cute anyways.

Love and smiles to all!

monkey and little man

So off and on I have been hinting about a crochet project that I had been working on and finished but still hadn't posted about. Well get ready, here comes the post about the crochet monkey. I'm pretty sure I found this pattern on the magical Pinterest. It's called Big Crochet Monkey Pattern. I liked how it looked and I wanted to make something fun for Danger to tug around with him when he starts to walk and stuff. Something he could drag and toss around. I bought some Simply Soft by Caron. And since I still have my love affair with blue green and orange, I had to use green and blue, of course. Here's how it turned out.

Isn't that so cute and cuddly? Plus it's kind of dorky looking, which Shark says makes it better, easier to love, I guess. Plus that little cutey holding the monkey makes EVERYTHING around him cuter!!

workin it

So, I've come to realize, I'm really not as lazy as I think I am. Some days I am. Most days I'm not. Most days I'm out and about town running around. Going shopping, making calls, finding things about. Searching for things. Cooking things, making things. Fighting that monster baby. And lately I have been working. Ok, so I scorekeep 2 maybe 3 night a week. Tuesday, Thursdays and sometimes Saturdays. It's great cuz Shark works Thursdays and everyother Saturday he's just sleeping anyways, so it just means I get out of the house without spending money! yayayay!

Anyways, in my last post about being a couch 'tater, I mentioned that I was planning on getting things done around the house. Well, I did end up folding all the laundry in the picture and I did put away the Easter stuff. However, I have since washed and dried more laundry and, I'll tell ya, for a while it sat in my living room, unfolded, just scuzzing me. Well I finally folded it Monday night. I had motivation! I had a mini craft/ladies night with some girls in my ward!

Now I say mini cuz I didn't get the word out to all the gals. But it was way fun! We crocheted, lots of crocheting! I was helping some girls to learn how to crochet, and my neighbor Megan was helping girls learn too. It was lots of fun. We're having another little get together next week too. Hopefully I won't be such a sloth and I'll tell all the girls. Eventually I'd like to have it on a Saturday evening or something, cuz our ward does EVERYTHING on Wednesday.

In prep for the craft night, I tried many times to clean my house. I really did. Yesterday I even planned my errands accordinly. I ran all over this county and the next. I did make a trip up to the BDO Outlet to snag some Lofthouse cookies on the cheap. {If you live in Northern Utah, that is the place to get cheap cookies!!} They had so much other stuff there too! I was amazed! Anyways, so I scored 2 big huge trays of Lofthouse cookie amazingness for $6, some Corn Pops, and some Dew. {Oh how I have missed the Dew!!} It was a pretty awesome trip. I have fallen in love with bakery outlets. Enroute, I saw the Hostess bakery outlet and stopped by and got some Cupcakes on the cheap too. {Shark and I have a cute tradition. He bought some on one of our month-iversary's while we were dating, and even though we've missed a few months, we still try to eat cupcakes together sometime during the month, around the 19th.} And as always, I love being close to the Sara Lee bakery outlet, cuz I can get my Grandma Sycamore's for $1. Best. Bread. Ever.

Anyways I came home and the house was clean. Shark cleaned the whole house for me. Swept the kitchen, vacuumed, picked up everything. I love him so much. I loved his so much even before he cleaned the whole house, but it really means alot to me that he picked up everything. He is an amazing husband who does so much for me and our little family.

Smile thru everything. :)
