Dr visit
Ok, so I debated posting this little bit of news. As most of you know, {ok, really anybody that talks to me knows!} Shark and I are trying to get pregnant. And I went to the doctor's office last Monday (Valentine's of all days!) and got a whole bunch of blood drawn and all the good stuff. I feel good about this doctor, he was sincere with his concern when I told him about our situation. Ok, it's not really a situtation. Here's the little story : we haven't exactly NOT been trying to get pregnant since we moved back to Utah last March. Not really trying but not really trying to prevent it either. So, this doctor was concerned that we have been off contraceptives for a year and not conceived yet.
Well, doctor called yesterday to give me some news. Well, there are 2 hormones girls need to get pregnant LH & FSH. Normal levels are 1/1. Mine are at 16/6. He ran thru some info, and said with levels high like mine and with the symptoms I'm showing, I most likely have PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome). So I immediately looked it up on Wikipedia. {That's where the link goes too} It says that having a PCO no long defines PCOS, but it's a symptom. Meaning : women with a PCO don't always have PCOS, and just because you are diagnosed with PCOS doesn't mean you have a PCO. So, some of the symptoms of PCOS are : are obesity, anovulation (resulting in irregular menstruation) or amenorrhea, acne, and excessive amounts or effects of androgenic (masculinizing) hormones. So, I start on glucofage today.
Ok, so that being said. I am glad we have an answer. Rather than just not knowing. I'm glad we have a reason as to why we aren't pregnant yet, and that this doctor is taking care of it. :)
Tonight is the Blue & Gold Banquet for scouts. I got my new shirt yesterday! Yay!
Love to those who are on their way to finding the map! ♥
