BIG things!

So, the past month has been crazy! We had Heritage Days {I still feel like I'm dead from that}, and then we started football at the City {sometimes you just need people to chill out and get out of the football shed!}, and then Shark and I flew to the Wisco for my sister's wedding! I have lots of pictures from that [ok, mostly landscapes from the plane window because I always forgot my camera when I was out and about]. At the end of last month/beginning of this month, Shark and I put an offer down on a house. The house was up for a short sale, so we knew it would take a long time {ignore where it says SHORT and it's lying!}. But I got a call yesterday morning, the bank excepted our offer! Shark and I went to put the earnest money down today, and signed the last of the papers! The closing date is September 10th!! We're so very excited to be in our own place, and to in our own house is just awesome! So, you can bet that once I get time {HA!} I'll be working on making our house cute, and I'll be posting about it! When our realtor called me, I started jumping on the bed, and I swear I didn't sit down for about an hour! I called everybody!! It's hard to change from "It's probably not going to happen" to "Yes it's ours!!" We tried really hard to NOT get our hopes up, {I read on the internet, that short sales don't go thru very often...} and so, I had to make sure that we looked at other houses and didn't start decorating {ok, that last part is just me, I had to not decorate the house!!} because it's so easy to get wrapped up and start thinking the house was ours already. Case in point : we drove by the house one day, and I was completely shocked to find people in it!! It was empty 2 days before when we went to go look at it! How could they sell our house out from under us?! I called the real estate office, and they said the seller rented it out on a month to month basis, and the renters knew the house was offered on, and they were ready to move at the drop of a hat. So I had to chill out! It wasn't ours! The seller could still do whatever he wanted to it...BUT now that we've signed papers and pretty much got the house, I'm thinking of where my griddle is going to go, which table to put up in the dining room, where to put our bed! I'm so very excited!! We both are. Shark and I have been smiling, and whenever I get to thinking about OUR HOUSE, a big grin comes to my face. We just keep repeating, We have a house! We have a house!!

Now, to test out the ward, and get ready to make yet another move!! {Good thing most of our stuff is still in boxes from Colorado!!}

Love to all who have good things happen to them, and even bad things that turn out to be good things. ♥

i could go for a nap

I haven't posted in a while, because of Heritage Days going on last week, and then I got caught in the football uniforms and then this past weekend, Shark and I flew to Wisconsin for my sister's wedding.

Here's what I wrote last week, before I left for WI:

Alright, so this past week was Heritage Days. And for those of you who have no idea what Heritage Days is, here in Utah, all of the little towns have their own City Celebrations. Most of these Celebrations are weeklong events, full of activities, fireworks, carnivals, fun runs, vendors and bands. I work for the city, and so I was right in the middle of Heritage Days. I was helping with the parade, the fun run, the Art Auction, the play, the bands, the glow sticks, the advertising, yeah, everyone was in a little bit of everything!!

I don't have any pictures because I was too busy sweating my brains out and running around the city park. I do have pictures from WI, mostly just landscape shots from the airplane. {I could remember my camera on the plane, but not really when I was out and about.}

Here is a collection of pictures from Wisconsin, or to be more exact, the travel to and from WI, cuz like I said, my camera somehow managed to stay in my purse the whole time.

Yeah, that's Wisconsin. And, since it was a wedding : ta da :

 And now to see if that offer goes thru on the house...... :)

I also need to note : I found where I got the gummies recipe from : Not So Idle Hands. I've gotta give credit where credit is due. *Also to note, Heather's birthday is coming up on Wednesday, I might have to sneak away to Ang's and make a truck load of gummies for her... ;)

Love to all who love to travel, or maybe more love to those who just love getting to their destination... ♥

Heritage Days

So, there has been a lack of posts because of Heritage Days here in town. Why does that affect me? Oh, I work for the City, and have been knee deep in just about everything. It has all been good tho, but still, it's crazy busy. Sorry.

Oh, and I'm also working on being honest. That sounds bad, but what I mean is : If I don't like something, I'm not going to do that or eat that or wear that, just because someone else likes it. Sorry about that too, but really, I have all kinds of clothes and stuff that I honestly don't wear, but bought because someone thought it was cute. :) No more "Sure, I'd like that." or "Sure, I'll wear that someday." Nope, if I don't need it, I don't want it!

I'll post as soon as I can. Oh, and next weekend, Shark and I are heading to Wisconsin for my sister's wedding!! Well, her reception, but still, it's exciting cuz MY SISTER IS MARRIED!!!

Love to all who have found they have NO time!! ♥

4th of July STUFF!

July 4th is here! The boys went off and fished all weekend, and I hung out with Heather and crafted. I was trying to come up with a 4th of July craft, and was looking for wooden stars at Walmart, but couldn't find any. I found a bunch of popsicle sticks. {When in doubt get popsicle sticks} and I picked up one of the magical 18 packs of washclothes, in the red, white and blue colors. :) How great of Walmart to put those washclothes in a pack for me already! Well, I hot glued the popsicle sticks into a star shape, and then hot glued a washcloth to the star, then cut the washcloth out to fit the star shape, then hot glued another set of popsicle sticks on the back to the washcloth. I made a popsicle stick/washcloth sandwich. I then painted the popsicle sticks red, white or blue.... Heather had some red, white, blue shoelaces laying around, so we used those as hangers. :)

Ta Da! For 4th of July, we had a barbeque, the folks were somewhere lost in Wyoming, and we hung out together, Shark & me, Heather & Steve. Heather had an idea to make a Flag Cake, We went and bought strawberries, and blueberries, and I made frosting, and she baked a cake. It was actually pretty freaking delicous! {I can honestly say, I haven't really eaten fresh blueberries, so I wasn't really ready for blueberries. They were kinda spiky, and I didn't really like them a whole lot.

Crockpots cooking ribs on the counter make a wonderful smell to wake up to!! I went to Kent's for dogfood and some other awesome food, and I found an awesome deal! Spare ribs for $1.48/lb! So I bought 2. Heather cut them up, and we stuffed them in 3 crockpots and let them cook for a day! It was awesome!

These ribs turned out amazing!! But I realized, I don't like ribs that have a lot of fat, so I wasn't enjoying the ribs that much, but they got great reviews from the rest of the crew!

I was bored later that day, when it was still light out, too early for fireworks but everyone is napping. I needed something to do, my brain just doesn't shut off! I found a recipe for homemade gummies at Not So Idle Hands. I had everything I needed to it, so I just made up a bunch of gummies.

Heather *LOVES* gummies. I bought some of these awesome cute ice cube trays from the dollar store, and from the DI {Utah thrift store} and those made some awesome molds for gummies!

They were pretty gummy, almost rubbery. But they were still really good!

These were some star ice cube trays I got at Walmart. Walmart has good deals, but these gummie were HUGE!

Box of gummies for Heather. She ate them all weekend, they were pretty aweome and fun to make.

4th of July was aweome, I loved it. :)

Completion!

So : I have completed 3 projects! Yayayayayy! The first one is : my summer todo list. I linked it up on this post on June 19th. Well, I have had it done for a while now, but we haven't hung it anywhere, or even taken pictures of it until yesterday.

Isn't that cute?! I tried to write really cute, but apparently I don't write that cute, so I failed at writing cute. But I think we have a good summer list.

The next project I got done was my journal. I've posted about this project a few times but never really called out what I was doing. I am making a pregnancy journal. {THAT IS NOT A HINT!} I got the idea from Sister Stuff, and I liked it and wanted to make this BEFORE we got pregnant, so I'm not rushing around, trying to remember who we told first and what their reaction was....

It was fun to make, but it took quite a bit of time. I had to keep stopping, and it took me a long time to cut out the vinyl, I had to decide which pages to put black vinyl on and which to put white vinyl on. I had to create the pages. {I basically copied the ladies over at Sister's Stuff... Shamelessly...} I used my packs of paper I bought solely because it was Green, Blue and Orange. Cuz those colors are awesome. It's not 100% complete, cuz I can't finish it all the way until we do get pregnant and we can put pictures in it.

The 3rd project I completed is one that Angie picked out. I went over there this morning to hang out, cuz I needed it, and we made this cute craft.

They are name blocks for a mantle or a shelf. They could really be any blocks, not just names, it could be holidays or slogans.  I also took a picture of the blocks next to my phone, for a size comparison.

Crafts are awesome, and I am so happy to get things completed!! Yayayayyayayayay!

Also, there is a little bit of awesome news. Everything started working on Tuesday! Meaning, my period started! No more worrying about what's going on! The relief is awesome! We're pretty happy that things started, that means, nothing scary is going on! Yayayay!
