Arrival!!

We made it to Utah! And I can't seem to find my camera, so I don't have pictures yet... I have been taking pics with my cell phone, and as soon as I get the pics sent to my Album on my cell account, I'll upload them here, for all to see. :) The move was more awful than I imagined it would be. First off, I did NOT know we had THAT much stuff!! After 2 full loads to the dump and 1 dumpster drop, we finally fit all of our stuff into 3 pick-ups and 1 6x12 U-Haul trailor. Yeah!! And we threw out our chairs, our entertainment center, our futon and gave our desk away. So, Angie came and helped pack everything in my house!! Thank you thank you TONS TONS TON!!! I really needed the help, especially on Friday!! I had my appointment first thing Friday, and my beta blocker pills did not get called in, so we weren't able to pick them up like we were supposed to. We went to the appointment anyways, and they hooked me up to an IV. No big deal, except the nurse was not very nice about anything. They took me down to the Radiology department, and Shark said I got pretty funny (we were tired from laying on the love sac all night, no sleep was acheived at all that night) and then they pumped me full of relaxing juice, so I was kind of loopy.... They sprayed some Nitro Glycerin under my tongue, to expand my vessels, and then they shot me full of the contrast while in the CT scanner.... They Dr. told me the Nitro would give me a headache... great, just what I need.... So getting home, with a headache and having to still pack everything in my house and clean it all, was so wonderful {sarcasm!!} But Angie came over, and the in-laws made it there Thursday night, and they were both wonderful and amazing! Ang packed everything and cleaned most stuff! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! She helped out so very much in packing and cleaning, she stayed to the very end! Thank you! And thank you to the friends that stopped by during the day, I'll miss you all!! So, anyways, we started our trip Friday night, and made it to Laramie. My head hurt so incredibly much, after Nirto and high emotions of the crying kind, my head was pounding so hard. We stayed the night in Laramie, and then headed West Saturday morning! [Shark's dad and mom started to head back East when we go on the road at Laramie.... We got them turned around!!] We made it to Utah around 3 pm Saturday afternoon, and started moving things into Steve and Heather's house!! It was so nice to finally get a shower, and clean clothes. {Yeah, the same clothes I wore to Bunko on Thursday night, were the same clothes I wore to the appoinment, and the same clothes I wore to Laramie and the same clothes I was wearing when we crossed the state line to Utah!!} So yes, I needed a shower and a change of clothes. Saturday night was THE best sleep ever!! And then we got up to go to church, which started at 1 pm!! Awesomeness!! Then we came over to the parents house, and watched the closing ceremonies, and then read a book. I love being here, it's so nice to be home. Some people out there need to hurry up and get here!! I've learned to take things as they come, don't make long term plans, jump on the right opportunies, and cherish the people who except and love you for who you are. Thank you for making Colorado a good place for us everybody! And remember, I know where you live, and you can bet I won't forget, and I'm impulsive.....

from heart with love

Dear Girl,

This is your heart. Yeah, I know I've put you thru alot in the past year, but thank you so much for taking care of me. Thanks for caring enough about me to go get checked out, even tho those little orthoscopy tubes tickled. I'm not sure what's been wrong lately, but I'm sorry I've been a little off. Things'll get sorted out eventually, you're taking the right steps. I just hope that nothing big is in the future, the last guys's hands were kinda cold, and I'm not sure your family can go thru anything else like that. You have been trying really hard to be healthy, keep it up, and use that Wii Fit you talked Shark into getting you, yes I know about that. One last thing : Thank you for sharing me and opening me up to all kinds of wonderful and amazing people. These people are your true friends, and they have always wanted the best for you. I'll keep these friends close for you, just be sure to keep in touch with them! I know how much they mean to you, because I've been hurting lately, but just remember their hearts are hurting too right now. And cherish that family you've got, I know the Shark and his family love you, your whole family does too!! Well, take care, girl. ♥

Love always,
Your Heart ♥♥♥

Ok, so that might be a little retarded, but that's how I've been feeling lately, and I just want everyone to know that I love them and will think of them often. Today Angie came over with the boys and helped me pack everything!! Seriously, she could be on that show "Hourders" - where they clean out houses, cuz she's awesome. We really did get everything packed up and labeled. I felt the stress lift off my shoulders. Thank you thank you thank you!!!  Tonight I went to Bunko, and it was lots of fun, I came up tied for most losses. Thanks for all the good times, ladies. :)

love to all your hearts-

Dont peek

So last night, I couldn't sleep, and lately that's been happening alot. So I got out the iPod and started playing solitarie, and took some Tylenol PM, to help with my headache and help me to sleep. Well, as I was playing, Shark rolled over and kissed me, then said "Don't peek, he's a cheater." I then asked, "Who's a cheater?" To which he replied with a SNORE. I thought it was so funny. But then I finally fell asleep, and in the middle of one of my solitaire games {no worries, I finished it while in the waiting room at the hospital...} So Shark woke up early and then went off to his Wednesday meeting. Me and Bandit snoozed for a while longer, then I got up to start my day. I had my appointment at 11:15 am, and as I was heading down to the hospital, Shark called. And said that he was on his way, and that he would hopefully meet me there. Well, things worked out and he got there, and we both went in to see the cardiologist. Well, they wanted to do some more tests before my insurance runs out, so they tried really hard to get something going for either Thursday or Friday, so Friday I have 1 last appointment, some kind of test that is really hard to say. So I head to the hospital for my test at 7:25 am!! Yikes, I don't even think I got up that early go to work!! [just kidding, I did a few times...] But after the appointment Shark and I went and got some Gelato. When I was the Children's Hospital for my surgery, they gave us some $5 coupons for the gelato and coffee bar in the main lobby, well, I had 2 left. So Shark and I went to the Children's Hospital just to get Gelato, and to see the mechanical marble machine. Anyways, while at the Children's Hospital, I had a feeling of calm come over me, that this is where we were supposed to be, that moving here was not by chance or luck, that it was for a reason, and that reason is no longer, because we took care of it. So I got a feeling of calm about moving. Anyways, so we came home and just started packing everything! Shark patched all the holes from my pictures, while I packed box after box, and I still have TONS of stuff to pack! Ugh!! When did this get so hard, and since when do we have ALL this stuff?! I mean, how did it fit into our little house?!

So today's POTD is : a picture of my living room. The little dog in the picture cuz he was chewing on his rawhide in the living room. Sorry it's kinda dark.

My iPod looks cold...

So, Angie showed me a project one of her friends did, and her friend Emily is a master-knitter. Emily made a iPod hoodie, complete with hood, pocket, and sleeves! I just about sold my iPod for one! But alas, that defeats the need for a iHoodie.... Well, Angie and I set out today to make one. We went to the Dollar store yesterday and bought a whole bunch of things we "might" be able to make these little sweaters out of. I bought a dish rag 2-pack, and a scarf. Angie bought spa socks and another scarf. Well, we tried Angie's scraf first, it was too stretchy, and my attempt was a complete fail, so much of a fail, that I didn't even take a picture of it. But then I got started on my dish rag... And it turned out pretty cool I think, no pocket and no sleeves... YET! And then I maliciously stole one of Angie's spa socks and made another hoodie. When I left, Angie was putting sleeves on hers... So cute! Even Shark thinks they're pretty cool.

We also made chicken wire boards, and since I left my extra fencing here at home, I will have to post mine when it's done. I am also giving it to a friend, so, it might have to wait just a little bit longer. But, Angie's turned out sooo cute! I love the color on her's. Once she posts a picture of it, I'll snag it and repost the pic on here!! That's me being sneaky....

So today's POTD is : iPod hoodies, conveniently donned the iHoodie. The light blue one (left) is the stolen spa sock, and the turquois one (right) is the dish rag. See, they don't look cold anymore, do they?! NOPE!

Appointments and packing

Ok, so, I totally spaced writing about my year check up appointments. I think I mumbled something about it randomly in some post, but I can't remember, and I'm being lazy and NOT looking it up. But, I had the first appointment on Wednesday, the day of the party. But last Wednesday was my stress-test. And I'm going to say sorry right now, because I never explained it, so people were worried. Sorry for worrying you!! A stress test goes like this : They put a blood pressure cuff on you, then they stick a snorkle(hooked up to oxygen) in your mouth, then they plug your nose, and then they put you on a treadmill. Then every 3 minutes they speed up the treadmill and raise the incline. So I was drooling all over the place and I thought I would kick butt at this stress test. Well, come to find out, not excercising all this time totally worked against me, who knew? But yeah, right before the 3rd change (almost 9 minutes in) I got lightheaded and dizzy, so we stopped. Then I was able to go home. :) Today (Monday), I had appointment #2 which was an echo. It's like an ultrasound for your heart. So, all I had to do was lay there as this echo tech took pictures of my heart. It's actually pretty neat, and I'm thinking that when I grow up, that's what I want to do. {Watch out world, I've got a plan!!} I love looking at the screen and knowing "That's my heart!" and I like the look on people's faces when they listen to my heart for the first time. [All growing up, my cardiologist would parade in the med students, and they'd all go for a listen, some reactions were pretty priceless.] I'm thinking Rad Tech classes are going to be fun when we pair off to listen to each other's hearts..... ♥

Anyways, after the appointment, I think I packed some more. Yes, that's right, yes I did cuz I started packing the food in the kitchen and I planned out my meals for the week using meat and food that we have in the fridge. :) So far, the meal plan has stuck!

So POTD for Monday 2.22.2010 is : Boxes and how Bandit feels about boxes that he can't chew on!!

love to all you movers and shakers -

Last Sunday

So this is our last Sunday here in Colorado. And I'm sad to leave. I've got lots of friends here who I will miss so very much. I blogged alot yesterday about the past week. Yesterday Shark went to the dump. We got rid of our hippie chairs and most of the stuff in the garage. Shark said he was in the "throwing away" mood. I packed some boxes. Shark also took our backdoor off and put Bruce's back on. We bought some cheapie back door to put a doggie door in, we figured Bruce wouldn't appreciate a doggie door in the middle of his nice door. Now our living room would look empty (no chairs, just sofa) except it's full of boxes. Also, I still have my entire craft room to pack (almost entire, I packed some already) but I got a bunch of boxes, then had the party, so my craft room has tons of boxes in it, it looks over-bearing. I don't wanna do it....

Also, I need to find a new name for our blog. It's not going to be Colorado Style anymore. I'm trying to figure out what to change it to!!! I have no idea. I may just leave it Team Collard, with nothing else for a while. I need to get some kind of style in there....

Team Collard : Colorado Style
Team Collard : Survival Style
Team Collard : Random Style
Team Collard : Homeless Style
Team Collard : College Style

Yeah I got no idea.....Maybe something like Girl & Shark : This is our style - Yeah I'm not sure. Oh well. This is something for me to think about on the drive back to Utah.... The very long drive back. {Cross your fingers that we can get Shark's iPod working for the trip....}

Today's POTD is : the part of the bathtub that I broke!! Yeah ME!! Not Shark, who usually breaks stuff, sorry honey, but it's true. I put my foot on the soap holder thing in the tub (I was shaving my legs) and the soap holder fell off into the tub!! We got it fixed tho!!

sugar cookies

Ok, I figured I'd post the recipe I used for the Mummy Cookies and Angie used it to make some Valentine's Day cookies cuz she liked it so much. So I'm posting the recipe and some pictures of the cookies. :) I love these cookies because they don't taste store-bought, you can tell that they are homemade cookies, and they are awesome. ☺

I'm also posting this because I know Angie lost the recipe... So here you go, you'll always be able to find it now!! ♥

There's been a murder!!

So Michelle gave Shark and I a coupon for the Adams Mystery Playhouse, and of course, we went. It was such a fun time! We laughed the whole time!! I've been wanting to go to something like that, but like everything here in Colorado, it's expensive!! Shark and I would NOT have gone if not for Michelle's coupon! Yay for Michelle and coupons!! I'll post more pics once they've uploaded the pictures to their site! What a great date night, and tonight IS our month-a-versary!!

Oh, and when we came home to find our little cold puppy still in the back yard, we found him covered with ice. (We lock him out cuz he's terrible.) So today's POTD is : Bandit covered in ice.

New hair cut!!

So today, I packed up the pictures in the house. Well, most of them anyhow. Some of them didn't fit in the box, so we'll pack those seperate. But I also got my hair cut today!! Yayayayay! I found a place I love! {FINALLY} and it wasn't expensive at all. They cut my hair, the way I wanted it, for $16!! And she took lots of time on it, and asked me questions about how I wanted it. It figures that I find a place to get my hair cut, and we're leaving next week. Ugh.... {please ignore the dirty mirror behind me, and just look at the hair cut!!}

Today' POTD is : Shark and me with my new hair cut, of course. :) {pretty sure I have NO idea why blogger sometimes decided to inport my pictures differently than how their shown....}

love you -

Just washed the dog!

So Bandit JUST got a bath, now he's clean and ready for his party. Today is Bandit's birthday, and we are going to have a party. I saw on Sister Stuff that her nephew (?) had a dog themed birthday. And I figured what better theme to have for my dog's birthday?! I bought some little doggie dishes and cut the kids' names in vinyl and stuck it on. I even have the makings for dog ear hats, not all the kids got them cuz not all the kids wanted them. But I cut out some little paper bones and "hid" them all over the house. If the kids found 4 of them, they got a prize {sunglasses} and if they found 1 more bone, they'd get a surprise!! A puppy!! Relax, not a real puppy, but I did want to scare Gerrit just a little bit (he hates dogs, well animals really...) I found little stuffed animal puppies at the dollar store. I made a "special" cake for Bandit, with dog food and bacon, and then I made a human cake. And I made it blue! The kids had a lot of fun eating out of their doggie dishes, and Michelle tells me that her girls try to eat every meal out of them. :) I had lots of fun getting this party together. And honestly, it really was for the kids, not for my dog, he spent most of the time gated in the kitchen, eating his cake. I did bring out the bubble machine, to which Kai shouted "bubble bubble bubble!!" I showed the kids just how Bandit reacts to the bubbles, and then shut him in the kitchen and let the kids play in the bubbles. Gerrit wanted in on the action, so he started shouting and catching bubbles too. And, since I was horrible and didn't get pictures at the party, Angie and Michelle sent me loads of pcictures they took! Thank you!!

That night when we went to sleep, Bandit laid down and started snoring, he didn't even move when Shark whistled for him! Thank you to all our friends who came! It was lots of fun!!

Today's POTD is : Bandit with his giant bone. He gots lots of good presents, and this one is going to take him a while. Yay!

Awesome today!

So, today I felt I really had to get stuff done. Yesterday was kind of a goof-off day, and I totally slacked on my TO-DO list. But today, I rocked!! I completed yesterday's list AND today's list!! How about awesome!! So starting right away this morning, I made Bandit's birthday cake {it smelled gross while I made it, it's got bacon bits, dog food, and beef baby food in it... and it'll have cream cheese and peanut butter frosting.}. I made the people cake {yellow cake turned blue with chocolate frosting}. I made the puppy chow {you know the Rice Chex with chocolate and powdered sugar}. I made a pie {my heart shaped pies didn't work so well, so I used the "leftover" fruit filling and made a pie for Shark, he loves pie}. And tonight, I'm going visiting teaching, and then hanging out with friends for a birthday.

Tomorrow is Bandit's birthday. And just to clarify, yes, I am having a party. I keep justifying the party by telling myself it's more for my friends kids than it is for Bandit. {Really, it is more for them!} I got tons of stuff for them, all I got Bandit was a huge chew bone and a ball. I'll get pictures tomorrow. No, it's not ridiculous. I feel that this party is a last Hurrah here in Colorado. Plus, the Collards would never throw a party without at least a quazi-legitmate reason, right?

I bought a $6 bubble machine at Wal-Mart today. I figured it'd be fun at the party tomorrow because Bandit ♥LOVES♥ bubbles {plus this way, the kids don't fight about who holds the bottle of bubbles, and there are NO spills!!} Well, Bandit really does love his bubble machine. I got it started as soon as I bought it [I HAD to make sure it worked!] and the dog went NUTS! It was so funny!

And here is today's POTD : Bandit eating bubbles. I'm in the picture cuz Shark took the picture. This is pretty much what we've done since I bought the bubble machine.

Love to you -

Today's creations!

So, today, I was asked to watch a friend's boy for a few hours. We played Wii and ate pizza, and then he played Lego StarWars while I created these cute little ribbon flowers!!

I found them on this blog : Ribbon Flower! And I found a bunch more I'd eventually like to try on this site : Make Bows & More! They've got tons of instuctions on the left sidebar. But right now, my sewing machine is packed away {granted, I could get it out, I know exactly which box it is and where in the box it is, but that's such a big step backwards when I've been desperately trying to get things INTO the boxes!!} And I had to slightly unpack to get at my ribbon...

But anyways, these turned out so cute! I am so excited about these. No, I am not pregnant. But my sister in law just had a little girl, and now I have something cute for little Whitney!! So yeah, that's what I've been up to this morning!! :)

disk installed!!

OK, so I know I *JUST* posted like 30 minutes ago, but I downloaded the disk for the printer. And I have scanned the long awaited picture of us getting on the cruise ship!!

Love is in the air!! Look how dang cute we are?! They took more pics of us, but I liked this one the best, and seeing how we had to purchase the pictures they forced us to take, we picked out 1! 4 days after we were married! The cuise was awesome!

love much -

New finds!

So in packing, I've been throwing out tons of stuff, and that means finding tons of stuff. For example, I found the photo of Shark and I on the cruise ship {our honeymoon!} and apparently I can't scan in it, I've still got to find the disk for the printer to upload that to the new computer.

But I did find how to create a heart on the computer, using the keyboard!!  If you go to this Yahoo Answers page, it's got all the info. I find I have to the hold the ALT and the FN key, hit the number I want {usually 3, on the number pad} and then let go of all the buttons. ♥ Ta Da!! So there you go.

Shark and I Nintendo'd after church today. It was pretty fun. We just completed level 3, meaning : we beat the game, but are now going back thru to get the star coins. :)

Today's POTD is : the leftover cookies we brought to church today, and my crown!!

We teach the 4-turning-5-year olds. They are so fun! We usually bring a treat, a coloring activity, and a game. That fills our time cuz the kids are always like "I got a puppy" "My mom loves cookies" "Yeah, my mom loves cookies too!!" "I have to go potty." "I have to get a drink" Today we made crowns that had tons of stickers on them (that's took up most of the time today, stickering the crowns) and the crowns said, I have been born of goodly parents. Cuz we talked about when Jesus was born. We have leftover cookies cuz Shark hasn't found them yet, and because the kids were stickering their crowns, no time for food when stickers are involved.

Oh, and here's one of the little dog. I was making the cookies today and opened the box, and Bandit took it right away. I then proceeded to put the box on his huge snoz.

Nice relaxing Saturday

So - today was a great day! Shark and I slept in as much as possible before the little dog came and attacked us. I made some cinnamon rolls, and we caught up on Lost (online) and watced the opening ceremonies of the Olympics (online). Then our friend Angie called, saying it was nice day out and that today would be prefect for getting some more pictures. So after a little bit, we went over there. But by the time we got over there, it got really windy and it had started to cloud over. I guess we're just doomed for taking pictures. But we got some good ones! ☺ We then went home to play with our little doggie, and then headed back over for dinner. We then all played PowerGrid. I asked if we could turn on the Olympics too, on mute, and we watched and played. It was pretty fun! Here are some pictures from the latest batch.

And here is today's POTD: bandit being goofy!! He's sticking his tongue out!!

love to all - and thank you so much to Angie!! ♥

Valentine's Day!!

Ok, so here is the POTD for today : The roses Shark got me, along with the Welch's sparkling grape juice, and the champagne glasses we got as a wedding gift. Tonight was a great night, thank you honey!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

love to you-

I can remember everything else!!

Yeah, I didn't even know what day it was yesterday, I thought it was the 10th, nope it was the 11th. All my days are blurring together!! But I am going to recap the past 2 days for everybody.

Feb 10th (for real) - Wednesday. Shark called into a radio show at like 5 am (he has his early meeting) and he won 4 tickets to see Edge of Darkness, it's that new Mel Gibson movie. So yayayay....? I stopped by the library today, I needed the next book the Sisters Grimm series. They had it!! Then we just hung out. One of my roomate (and best friend) from college called me! {Yeah, I'm still working on that gift, yo} and it was so good to talk to her! So, the POTD for 2.10.10 is : my big huge pile of books I got at the library. [I know it's blurry, but I kinda like it that way]

Feb 11th - Today was unusually busy, I got up (not early, mind you) and just as I was finding my keys to head to Wal-Mart, Ang called and asked what I was doing. She had just dropped Ryker off at class, and was around town. So we went to Wal-Mart together and then went to McDonald's for $1 sodas and Cinna-Melts. Once I got home, I ordered some pizzas, and then headed down to ex-work, I planned to have lunch with some friends from there, I brought Bandit, cuz they wanted to see him. I made it just in time to get the pizzas and then just in time to work, they had just started their lunch break. Then we headed back up home, and I started to clean. I had finally talked Ang and Gerrit into letting us babysit!! We watched their boys for a few hours while they went on a date for Valentine's. The boys are so fun!! Shark played Punch-Out on the Wii and Ryker was playing along, pretending to be the bad guy. He would "get knocked down" too, but after Bandit licked his face a few times, there was no more knocking down. Kai loved petting Bandit, and loved running and have Bandit chase him, he was very interested in Bandit's water dish {don't worry Ang, I watched him very carefully!} Bandit was excited because there were new people. We put in Harry Potter and Ryker sat down to watch that, but to him every witch or wizard was bad. Kai helped me make cookies for V-day. Angie and Gerrit brought Sundae's for us when they came to pick up the boys. So the POTD for 2.11.10 is : the cookies we made!!

Today, Shark asked what my plans were, and that I wasn't sure. He then said, it might be a good idea for me stay around the house today.... I love when he's sneaky.

Great! I just started yet another series that is not yet complete. That makes 3! Fablehaven's last book is coming out next month, The Sister's Grimm has at least 1 more book, and technically I haven't started it yet, the 13th Reality only has 2 books out so far, the next is coming in October. I might just have to search the bookshelves at the library to find something new!

more to love later - and love to all

breakfast and a haircut

Today, my friend Angie asked  if I wanted to go get breakfast at iHop with her this morning. I agreed, I never turn down food, especially if I don't have to make it!! ;) It was lots of fun just hanging out with her and Kai, and just eating food and talking.

Tonight, I gave Shark a haircut. This has been my duty since marriage, which is fine, I don't mind at all. But as of late, I have slack horribly on my duty. Tonight, I fixed all that. I cut his hair. All I can say is, it was about time. I had intention to cut it a while ago, but never had the follow thru, I'm horrible at procrastinating. Wait, if I procrastinate alot, does that make me good at procrastinating? Oh well. I got pictures of the before and after. And apparently my haircuts make Shark evil.....

And I have a POTD for today. When Shark left for work, he shut the back door, and the C fell. The C is always falling, whenever I shut the microwave door, a cupboard, the fridge door, the oven door, the back door, it's always falling. So the C falling is the POTD for 1.9.10.

love-

More Birthday wishes!!

Happy Birthday Gwennie!! Today is my little sister's 21st birthday! Yayayay! Again with the picutres of us when we were little. She was so cute with her red hair and dimples, she still has red hair and dimples, but she's not cute anymore, she's beautiful! {ok, she's still cute!!} I love you Gwenners!!

Happy Birthday!! Woot Woot!! I hope you have a good birthday, sis!!

Love to all my family and friends!!

Love and a craft

Today is Monday - I called about our gift card. We're planning on going to the Adams Mystery Theatre, it sounds like fun, and awesome Michelle gave us a gift certificate. So we're trying to plan that. But one thing that's hard about planning Valentine's Day is 1) this year it's on a Sunday, and 2) do we plan 2 things in February, 1 on V-Day and 1 on our month-a-versary. We decided to celebrate v-day at home, get some Martinelli's, maybe dip some fruit in chocolate, watch a movie, have a candlelight dinner. :) And we're going to redeem the certificate on the 19th (our month-a-versary).

Here's a cute little craft I did today. I got these little tile magnets from Michael's (they were $0.20 each for a 2 pack!) So I picked up 4 packs, 2 of the same black and white ones. I have been staring at them for weeks, trying to figure out what to do with them, and I finally picked out that I wanted to Mod Podge them, but what to MP? It hit me, Valentine's day is coming, why not heart and LOVE? So ta da!!

It was alot of fun to make these, and super easy.  And then I went kinda crazy adding words to the collage, it's all about Love, baby!

Today's Picture Of The Day is : Girl Scout Cookies!! We got our girl scout cookies today, and they look awesome!! Woot Woot, so excited!!

Superbowl

Yeah I'm ready for some football! I love football, even if MY team isn't playing. We went over to Angie's & Gerrit's for their annual Superbowl party. It was lots of fun, and there was tons of food!! At the beginning, Gerrit asked who everyone was cheering for : who they wanted to win, and who they thought would win. Me, being the football fan that I am, thought these two questions were synonymous. I thought the Saints were going to win, and I wanted them to win. And guess what? The Saints did win!! Woot woot! We had a bunch of fun with friends, and it was fun making fun of the commericals, and debating about them. What we were supposed to do with Gerrit there, really? Anywho- I thought the commercials this year were kinda awful. Not near as good as in past years.

I didn't get much packed today, we had churching to do. And then the Superbowl party we HAD to go to ;)  We love hanging out with our friends, we love their kids, and have tons of fun just chatting with them, and playing new games. :)

Today's POTD is : Snow. It started to snow, and this is our snow-covered Sunday paper. (Shark told me, Girl, look at the paper and smile, because we did NOT deliver it!!)

baking and cleaning

So, today after sleeping in a while and then Bandit sticking his nose in my face, I got up and finished cleaning the bathroom. It looks great! I'm so happy with it. And then after that (and dropping the ground meat and the silent auction thing off at Belle Creek) I started making treats!! I made a bag full of s'mores on a stick, and I tried some little heart shaped berry pies.

Here is the silent auction thing. It's a chickenwire message board. I made it silver (I didn't have anymore black spray paint) and I painted the clothes pins silver too, and then tied ribbon around the clothes pins. I didn't put any names, any words, nothing but ribbon, twine, and a star.

I didn't get any pictures of the s'mores on a stick, cuz you've already seen those. But I did get pictures of the berry pies, I had to be quick, Shark had that hungry look in his eyes. I just made 5 of them, so far, I was just trying it out at first. They turned out pretty good, there are some changes to be made, but I'll have to find time to try them again.

So the POTD for Saturday is : my cute little heart shaped pie. This is the last one on the tray, Shark and I ate them all, I'm glad I thought to get a picture before they were all devoured.

Week 1

Week 1 is done and under my belt. I think I've been doing ok, and that I've been handling everything just fine. It really is a big change, to go from working to suddenly not working, all in the time of a day. I'm sure I'd be freaking out if not for the plan of attack Shark and I came up with. My days have been consumed with cleaning and getting things ready to pack, and planning meals for the month, trying to eat our food so we don't have to haul it to Utah with us. Plus in the middle of all that (literally IN THE MIDDLE) I planned a party. SO yeah, that's just how things have gone so far. Every now and then, I have little bouts of zero ambition, where I feel unmotivated to do anything, and that's usually what I do, nothing. But that's only once in a while. Today was my day of no ambition. I had started to clean, but didn't get very far, and then Shark came home early and napped, and then I got lazy, and napped with him. So yeah, nothing really got done. I did get some boxes today, and I even filled one. But that's it. I've also learned that I can't fully clean the floors, I have a dog and husband who both walk in mud and dirt like they live for it. Tomorrow is {hopefully} my day to finish cleaning the bathroom and start on the kitchen.

I am doing 1 craft for tomorrow. We're going to a fundraiser spaghetti dinner for our friend Levi and his family. I'm planning on making a chicken wire board with matching clothes pins. Once I get that done tomorrow, I'll take a picture of it, before we take it to the dinner.

Sorry if all I talk about is moving lately. But that is what is going on in my world. If I was having a baby, baby would be all I'd talk about, when I was working, work was all I talked about. I said we were boring before, well now something is going on and I'm talking about it. Sorry if it seems like too much, but really, I'm not doing anything else really besides cleaning and getting ready to move.

Anyways, I'm off to bed. love to all -

Birthday wishes and boxes

Today is my brother's birthday!! Happy Birthday Timmy!!! You're an awesome brother, and I love you!! You've taught me so much, and I look up to you! Hope you have a great 25th birthday!!

I had my mom send me some CD's with pictures of me growing up, I think I had her send them for the wedding video or something. So I've got pictures of when we were little!! Yayay!

Today I went and got some boxes from Home Depot, they've got some pretty big ones for pretty cheap. So today, I put the DVD's in a box. I also started to clean the kitchen floor, but after it not getting clean by mopping AND by scrubbing with a washcloth, I sort of lost ambition... I have some of those Magic Erasers, so that is what I'll try next. I think those things are awesome!! I had washed out a brush when I was using the chalkboard paint, I washed it out in the bathroom sink, and for almost 2 months, I had little specks of chalfboard paint in my bathroom sink that would not come out. I bought the Magic Eraser, and the specks came out!! I don't think the sink looked this good even when we started renting the place! So I'm pretty sure my eraser will clean the kitcheb floor... :)

POTD for today 1.5.10 is : our DVD's in a box. This is just most of them, I kept some out cuz Shark and I are movie people!! And again, it thinks the picture is horizontal when its not. I tried to fix it....

Baby Blanket

So, I posted some pics on my Facebook and hid them from my brother and sister in law. I know thats mean to do, but I was showing my mother in law and some friends from work, what the blanket looked like. Well, I finished it earlier this week, and mailed it out. I wasn't going to post anything really about it until she had gotten it. Well, she got it today and called me. I loved making this blanket, it was so much fun picking out the colors and the fabrics and making the blocks was so fun!

The pattern really is forgiving, and that's what I needed in my 2nd quilt. The first one I made was NOT forgiving. I love how this quilt turned out, and it was alot of fun making it and creating the blocks. I added creative things, like Whitney's name on the back, in quilted letters. And I de-wired some ribbon for the binding, I think I will use ribbon forever for binding blankets, it was so easy!!

I haven't seen baby Whitney yet, I've heard her over the phone, and I've seen pictures. And I can tell everyone, that I {personally} and so excited to have a little baby in the family!! She is such a blessing to our big Collard family, and I know that her entire family is grateful for her. I can't wait to meet her!!

POTD for 1.4.10 is : Bandit. We sold our futon tonight, and we had tons of blankets on it that just got thrown into our room. I walked into our room to find this :

King of heap!! What a cute little doggie!

Im not depressed, I made my bed

There's a siren that goes off everyday at 11am. I didn't know that until now. At least I don't think so. No wonder Bandit is ok with loud noises...

Anyways, I read somewhere, that people who make the bed are less likely to get or be depressed. So HA! Today's POTD proves that I am not depressed, right?!

And no, I didn't make the bed just to prove this point. I washed all the sheet and put new pillow cases on. See Shark's Optimus Prime pillow case? Don't let him deceive you, Megatron is on the other side. Lately all I've been doing is cleaning and throwing stuff out. I've done pretty good, if I do say so myself. I started with the laundry and the craft room, because the craft room has always been my doom. So, I started there to get that out of the way. I sorta floated to the other rooms of the house, but so far, the craft room likes like the most work was done there. :)

hmmmm... action

So, I've noticed I didn't post yesterday... Sorry. For those of you who look for a daily post. You can imagine things have started to happen. I've started to throw trash away!! Amazing! Sorting papers and tossing the unwanted, consolidating notes, scanning and saving. Today I'm cleaning out the spare room, going thru my craft stuff, The Closet, and the desk. We're also documenting what we really are taking with his. Know anyone who wants a futon? A desk? A couch (it really is a comfy one!!)? An entertainment center? A 7ft conference table [we used as a kitchen table]? A birdnest chair with ottoman? Let me know, we can totally get you the hook up!! Cuz we have decided, we are only taking our bed, our little kitchen table, our dressers, our shelves, our lovesac and our filing cabinet. Oh and the washer and dryer we got, most rentals I've looked at have hook ups. So yeah... anybody want our furniture? Also, do you know anybody who's got some boxes?! LOL! I'll be looking on craigslist for free boxes.... So yeah, that's what I've been up to.

Ok, so I have been getting stuff done. But I can't post about it, until I at least mail it! I have my project done, but I need to mail it today.

All I've been doing is cleaning. POTD for yesterday is : Shark welding. I like this one most of all, because of the shadow on the door.

POTD and a new day

Today is day 1 of my unemployment. With any luck, this phase will only last about a month. Who knows. LOL! Today, I finished the blanket, yes this post is going to published AFTER I mail it, but might as well get something done today. POTD is the finished blanket.

I LOVE IT!! {But for some reason my Picasa thinks this picture is horizontal..} I absolutely adore this blanket, and can't wait to have girls of my own.... Don't worry, that is not a hint, we're really just worrying about moving right now. Family will come later, when we're ready. :) On to cleaning my house, and getting things into boxes... :) Yayayayayay!
